I agree with you, Paul. I agree 100%. Too bad so many sheep are such...sheep.

One of my sister-in-laws' sisters got sucked into Tilton's lair back in the early 90s. She and her husband gave this cretin over $10,000, and they made $40,000 between them!
Lots of ignorant people out there.

ROFL! I used to watch for a laugh also! He was the only TV preacher who flaunted his scantily clad women, his ranch, and his private jet!
And the kookiest stuff. OMG, I just about fell off the couch when he started preaching on black holes and Roswell.

What you have said rings true, although I should clarify something just a bit. I think you left out one small thing: prosperity theology. Most/All of these charlatans promote this type of thinking (name it and claim it, blab it and grab it, etc). Prosperity theology reduces God to a bank. And conveniently enough, the charlatans say you must give THEM lots of YOUR money to get into the "bank".
Jesus told the rich man to sell all of his possessions, give to the POOR, and follow Him. Jesus didn't say to give money to richer people so you can have blessings from Him.
Want some blessings? Never give money to a ministry that spends more than 30 seconds on each program begging for your money.

I get a certain guilty, twisted pleasure out of watching his show from time to time Bob Newhart and others have admitted the same fascination.
Gene has told his followers at times that the money they are sending for this or that project are not tax deductable and that he wants some pledges over and above what they are already contributing. He's bought his own shortwave satellite broadcast system and can hit about 3/4 of the world.
I've found Gene's sermons to be watchable (although extreme). His fundraising efforts can also be good for laughs (especially when he's going through a breakdown; profanity can really start to fly).
He also let's his followers/viewers know that he spends a lot of money on horses for different competitions.
I find it mind boggling that his supporters give him money but he doesn't seem to run the "healing" or prayer lists that the other televangelists use.
Werner Herzog made a documentary about him (I think in the 1970s) called God's Angry Man. Dr. Gene Scott participate d in the making of the film with Werner; he hasn't allowed that sort of access since. I don't think that it was a hatchet job. It's really scarce although some bootleg copies exist. I've never seen it.

That is a book with the same title (note the date, 1932). The only bootlegs I've ever read about were very low quality (multiple generations down).
Anchor Bay video has released legit copies of many of Werner's films to DVD. It wouldn't be out the question to see the documentary issued (maybe with another short work) at some point.
The film does get screened. I don't think it is banned because of any legal action. A bootleg would run around $20 which is trash because the quality wouldn't be there and you would be paying some geek $20 just to run a copy of a video he never paid for.

In Him we live and move and have our being.

Benny Hinn is a good man. He doesn't ever ask for money at his crusades and he truly is a "healer". I was at my church when he came for a camp meeting and one of my friends was healed. To use his UNBLEMISHED name in the same sentence as Bob Tilton is shameful. He is truly a good man and a true man of God!

I remember watching Eugene Scott in amazement around 18 years ago when I first got a satellite dish. In particular, I remember him turning to the band and saying, "Play that PISS-ANT song again!" And the band broke into a rousing rendition of "Let's step on some piss-ants for Jesus, oh step on some piss-ants for me..." Also remember him telling the audience that he wasn't there to get them saved; he needed MONEY, by golly.

There was a lady here in Memphis who had brain cancer and other cancers, she was in her 40s. There was a couple of big articles on her in the newspaper. She had gone to a couple of Hinn's crusades and also to some healer in another Tennessee town. She was cured of cancer. This was a real miracle because she had the most deadly types of cancer. Ironically, a couple of years after those articles in newspaper, she was killed on Amtrak train after it collided with a truck carrying steel beams. She was with friends and family on their way home from American Girl factory.

1 Cor 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor
swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Bob's got some good company.
