I guess I was assuming that everyone knew why they had to leave.
It's airport expansion. The Dayton International airport wants to build a parking garage.
The airport owes about 75% of the land the Grand is held on.
Also, the ATA would like to expand the grounds.
One of the great pluses of the S-ville site is that the ATA would OWN the land. They would not be in a position to vacate leased land as they are currently.
Alas the board is just pissin' in the wind on this one.
My hope is the ATA membership challenges the board on this decision (was there a decision?).
