LOL! Roscoe, I also shake all the way to the kennel whenever my parents go out of town. That's one of the reasons they hired a dogsitter to come by to feed and play with me while they were gone for a few days last weekend.

I immediately went on one of my hunger strikes the way I do everytime they go out of town, mom had a backup plan though and had left some deboned KFC chicken in the fridge for the sitter to feed me just in case. I'm a sucker for chicken (tastes just like rabbit).

Got so lonely I perfected chasing my tail while they were gone and can actually catch it now!
Have been giving mom the cold shoulder since they returned, I know it's all her fault that they ever left! I'm starting to warm up a little to her now.

Morning, all!! Glad to see that you all are still at it everyday. I've been offline the past few months. We have recently moved to a beautiful mountain spot and my dog, Regis Halfling is having a rough time getting used to the deer....he's been a flatland farm dog his entire life. It wasn't too bad until a new mama deer with her fawn got very protective and tried to charge him through the fence. He used to be a good watchdog, but the only thing that he notices now is the deer.

"Flyer doesn't always remember things that are important to me. He forgot about my trip to visit Humblegunner for the 4th of July.

I sort of knew something was up that day. Dad was in one of those moods like when he knows he doesn't have to go to work. I kept watching him and watching him. Then he said the magic words ~ 'You wanna go for a ride?'

We didn't get in Dad's car. We took the ride in Mr. Gunner's SUV. I had to sort of be boosted up to get in 'cause it's so big. Mr. Gunner petted me and talked to me.

Other people were there, too, like Mr. Eaker, Mr. TheMom and Mr. BobbyD. They all petted me and talked to me also.

Mr. Gunner made a fire and I know what that means - dog assuage! He made it just for me and everyone helped serve me. The people ate ribeye meat. (but not all of it!)

We all went for a walk and watched the sky sparkle and boom. It didn't scare me hardly at all. Dad slept on the couch and I took my guard position on the floor near him.

We got home the next day and ~ WOOF! ~ there was leftover ribeye meat for me! I ate ribeye flavored kibble for 3 days. I love Mr. Gunner.

Hi, there! Yep! We're here every day, AuntB. Good to see you settled so maybe you can visit more often again. I've talked with GrandmaC a couple of times, and hopefully before long we can feature her at the Finest.

Sounds like Regis is going to be good friends with that doe and her fawn. :)

Hi, DaisyMae. Stay 'just' mad enough at Aqua to make her bend over backwards trying to get back in your good graces. Get lots more treats and belly rubs that way. LOL

We used to hire a pet sitter, too, but Sugar never liked to be in the house very much, so it was much easier having someone come feed and play with her twice a day. Roscoe would probably tear down the back door if he were left outside while we were gone. He's never handled 'alone' very well! :)

That's exactly what I've been doin. ;)

They know better than to leave me inside, I had my shock collar on and stayed outside around the house. I have a couple of beds outside, one in the garage and one in my doghouse on the back patio. It did get a little spooky at night when the critters came around. Mom was worried that I would get too close to a skunk and get sprayed.

A beautiful Ohio-afternoon hello to everyone.

Thanks for the thread dutchess!

We lost our oldest cat 3 weeks ago. She just never woke up one morning, so it was peaceful.

She gave us lots of love, particularly our oldest son, and she is missed.

May God Bless all our beloved pets.

Hi, Molly. You say your oldest cat, so it means you have another, or others. Still very sad to say goodbye to an old friend who's been with you so long.
