They have his bat, his ball, and his uniform there. His personal actions have no bearing on his professional achievments. JUST PUT HIM IN.

* See my previous comment: You obviously need a "Principle Bypass"...maybe your healthcare provider offers the operation!

1905 would be 14 years before the Black Sox scandal. Also, Johnson was the American League president, John McGraw was a national league manager. There was no sign in the club house in John McGraw's day.

Pete is not a victim of the liberal media. As I explain in the column, he's one of the "guilty ones" who's been punished enough in the model of Bill Clinton.
I think the different between Cobb, Ruth, and Speaker is they never "got the goods" on them and there is not enough evidence to say they bet on games they were involved in, certainly not enough evidence to reach the level of certitude that would have convinced them to agree to a lifetime ban from the game of baseball.

Attention to all of you nimrods who keep mailing me because I don't believe Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame: Either you believe in Principles, Justice, and Conviction or you don't. If you do, you probably don't think Rose belongs in the HOF...If you don't believe in the absolutes of the aforementioned concepts, you most likely think Rose belongs in the HOF. It's that simple...end of discussion.

Are you really missing the whole point for making gambling illegal on a sport you're participating in?! Try to stay with me...I'll go slow for you so you can understand the reasoning behind rules and regulations. If you gamble on a game that you're involved in, you are potentially affecting the outcome of that game. Essentially, you are prostituting the contest and tainting the whole concept of fair competition. Please say you followed the reasoning here. If not, you must report immediately to ER for a "Principle Bypass."

Rule 21 (D) says clearly, unambiguously that if you bet on a game in which you are involved, you are suspended for life.
I don't want a manager making a pitcher pitch too long because he's got 20 Gs on the line. I don't want him to have a guy injured stealing second so that his team has a better chance of winning by 3 or more runs so he'll make his spread. If he gambled as a player. That's not much better.
I don't want him killing the secondbaseman with an illegal slide or "accidentally" hitting the opposing player in the back of the head with a relay throw. Betting on your own spor is wrong.

You're saying that betting on the spread is wrong, yet betting to win is okay?! Betting on the sport you're involved in is completely wrong...that's why it's ILLEGAL!!! Please try so hard to understand the concept of rules and regulations: The rules are posted in each clubhouse, yet he still broke them, knowing the consequences, which are also posted!!! YOU REALLY ARE A VERY MIXED UP PERSON...YOU'VE OBVIOUSLY SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME GAMBLING THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE...GO GET SOME HELP MAN, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

Let him in the HoF. Keep him out of any managerial/coach/front-office role That's right, and fair.

If Rose is reinstated to Professional Baseball, I will never again attend a Major League Game. That would be the end for me.I hate the fact that many players today use steroids and other performance enhancing drugs. It has completely changed the game of baseball and, in my opinion, is a form of "cheating".

Some of the games were played in the American league park (Columbia Park in Phiiladelphia).

That's still a very big stretch. The main reason is that Ban Johnson had no authority.
