When my sister went in for back surgery this summer, the staff was happy to serve her Atkins. They even came up to talk about the Atkins diet and one of the nurses gave her a great cheese cake recipe. Cincinatus and I tried Atkins when we heard about her improved health and we too are Atkins success stories.

While I agree the Atkins diet is very dangerous, this effort sounds more like an effort to eliminate all meat consumption (given the comment that we should all eat vegetarian diets) rather than a geniune concern for health. I bet if you research the group you will find it is a left-wing organization rather than a legitimate medical organization.
