LOL....I was probably at THAT Rally, without an umbrella - must have been the day it was STORMY...wind, rain, hail, etc. (sorry, your link did not work). People with camera's get SPECIAL dispensation, for sure. I miss the good ole rains of Seattle.....we haven't had any REALLY good really RAINY winters for awhile. (But, I'm lucky I don't have to get out and drive the freeways, etc...either.)

To each his own.... I can say that I at least try different foods.

The question is do slugs taste like escargot? Sautéed escargot is chewy and musty, anything like slugs?

What does 70 degrees feel like?

Hot. Really hot.

But now it's a warm 54F outside, with an intermittent light mist.

Gee, if Seattle were in France, 5,000 natives would be dead from heatstroke.

NOAA Sand Point says the temp is 70% exactly, so I guess we broke the record.

Saw it on the KVI home page -- we have a new record. *\:-(

I keep looking at those clouds overhead... hoping it will rain...

Yup, we broke it! Predictions are that it could go for another 2 weeks or so...

...hoping it will rain...

It will. Believe me. It will.

I am envious.

We pay for it with our winters. And liberals.

SEATTLE - Seattle tied a record Monday for 49 straight days of temperatures of 70 degrees or higher.

It'll stop tomorrow:  I'm taking a few well-earned days off and playing golf.

Me deciding to play golf always snaps the good weather.  Break out your snow boots.

Seventy degrees? As in seven-zero?!?
We'd be freezing here in NC at 70° in August!

Here's the weather for where I live:

Detailed Forecast for Edgecombe County, NC
Heat Advisory:

Issued at: 4:00 AM EDT 8/27/03, expires at: 6:00 PM EDT 8/27/03

heat advisory this afternoon Afternoon temperatures in the mid 90s combined with the humidity will create heat index values around 105 degrees for 3 to 5 hours. Prolonged exposure to these conditions may cause problems for even very healthy people. Heat exhaustion, cramps, or in extreme cases heat stroke, can result from prolonged exposure to these conditions. Children, the elderly, and people with chronic ailments are usually the first to suffer from the heat. Friends, relatives, or neighbors should check on people who may be at risk. Be sure to limit your time outdoors between 10 am and 6 pm, and stay out of the sun as much as possible. If you must work outside, take frequent breaks in air conditioning. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

This bulletin affects: Cumberland, Edgecombe, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Nash, Sampson, Scotland, Wayne, Wilson, including the cities of Fayetteville, Goldsboro and Rocky Mount

Ugh. I'd have real trouble there. I'm okay into the 90s... if it's dry.

I grew up here and that's even a bit hot for me.
I never run in the evenings when the temp. gets that high.

Actually, we've had a pretty mild summer so far... the temps have usually been in the mid-high 80s.
