We were out crabbing on Hood Canal, everybody wanted oysters, I musta shucked over 150 oysters, didn't touch one. Don't eat boogers.

It was 110 here a couple days ago...with humidity despite hardly any rain.

It's true that extreme weather of any kind is rare here, but there are too many Fourths of July when it's 65 degrees and overcast. But there's no place better in September and October - 65-75 degrees and generally sunny. But come November . . .

See, to me, the ideal weather day is 68 degrees. Overcast is fine with me. I just don't want to deal with the weather than makes you drip sweat or freeze.

I know one thing that bugs a lot of transplants to Seattle is the lack of sun. It never bothered me at all, even though I came from western Nebraska where we had lots of sunny days.

When my youngest daughter was 3, we moved to Hawaii for a few months. Our first day there we were eating outside at a picnic table and she looked up and said, "What's that funny blue stuff in the sky?"

Yep, Seattle kid for sure.

I can eat Clams and I am okay with Calamari (Fried only), but Oysters, Mussels, Escargot are all nasty.

I am an ex-steamfitter welder (15 years under the hood) and don't wear them. I figure the UV light from welding has made me a non-sensitive to the sunlight, heck I barely squint when I am out and about. I have a pair though and I think I've worn them twice this year...

That thing is so cool! I am a real art deco fan and have been an admirer of that building for some time.
