Wesley Clark Admits He Lied
Fox News | August 26, 2003 | Fox News

Posted on 08/26/2003 4:55:03 PM PDT by Peach

Wesley Clark admitted the White House DID NOT pressure him to lie that Iraq was behind 9/11. He now admits it was a Canadian think tank.

Previously, Clark had insisted that the White House called him, as the towers were falling, to pressure Clark to go national that Iraq was behind the attack. He has backed off that claim and admits he was "confused".

If he was a Republican, or most anything but Dem or Green, his political career would be over, before it even begins. But for those two categories, being "confused" seems to be a pre-requisite for high office. At the very least, it's career enhancing.

Good one and seems to be true!

Prior to today's show, I thought Clark would be the only candidate that could end the Bush presidency. Clark appears on the surface to have the prerequisites: articulate, good looks, national security background, etc. The voting public doesn't look beyond the surface stuff typically.

After today's thread that Clark believes the White House was behind his being fired from CNN, I no longer believe he is a threat. Anyone who believes that CNN would do the White House's bidding is too blindly stupid to qualify for dog catcher.

Then after the roundtable discussion and how Clark confused who actually called him on 9/11, I've decided I'd like him to run, because he CANNOT win. These lies are too big and with the excellent quotes provided by quick Freepers, he just cannot get around the fact that he stated publicly and often that the White House tried to pressure him, when in actuality it was a think tank.

Yep, Clark is another Arkrazy boy like Bubba Clintoon, who went to Oxford and came out hating America.

Caught it. Brit lead the panel well in regards to the Clark statement. The consensus was that Clark, as a presidential wannabe, had mis-spoke!

The snippet at the end of the program was a hoot! Letterman is commenting on the race and says, "Bustamante is in the lead. How can that be? He's never been in a movie!"

Of course, they did mention that he almost started WW III, because he didn't want the Russians beating to an Airport.

Thank god the Brit Brigadier sood up to him.

BTW is it me or is he French looking?

Thanks again for that link. FNC reported Clark now says it was a Canadian think tank.

Maybe it was a think tank based in Canada concerned about the Middle East.

Whatever, sounds like a Saudi front group.

Wesley in tight with them?

I can see it...the Towers are burning, about to fall. President Bush considers who to turn to for advice, says...

"Get me Wesley Clark!"

Much like in the movie 'Airplane' when Lloyd Bridges, the Chief Air Traffic Controller in the tower when the in-flight emergency is declared (both pilot & co-pilot went unconscious due to food poisoning) considers who might best serve as a pilot on the ground to talk in the passenger-pilot who is now at the controls (the Autopilot having deflated prematurely), says...

"Get me Rex Kramer!"

VERY prissy (read French) looking. But women in America seemed to think Clinton was good looking so what do I know?

It was a Canadian think tank . . . Perhaps it was Peter Jennings!

Couldn't be, peetah is incapable of thinking.

Two hours ago, I was sure that the Democrat ticket would be Dean/Clark. Now I am not so sure. The man is erratic. I dont know whether anyone will have the guts to choose him now. He is NOT going to run for President himself; he would rather sit out all the debates and tough questioning and wait to be chosen for the VP slot.

Now we have two folks running for VP, both appear to be nut cases with a certain appeal to Liberals. Either way, Bush is going to win big.

Good question. I'd like to know what any think tank was doing calling Clark on 9/11 "as the towers went down". A little concerned and wanted to get out in front of the story that Arabs weren't responsible?

You asked a good question, Shermy, and if we had a press that actually did a little leg work on Rats, perhaps we'd find out the answer.

A Clark disrupter. Guess we can expect more of these as the race "heats up", prairiebreeze.

That's an analogy we should find a way to use on Clark - comparing him to those in the Airplane movie! Another movie star joins a race.
