Yes, the person writing the recently released report regarding the EPA is a clinton appointee.

Good point...Hillary has to pretend like she gives a damn about the "ordinary" people of NY. She mentioned the Fireman. These guys know without being told about air quality. It's part of their training. Normal people can smell and many people were relocated and their apartments were checked.

But beyond Hillary, the People of New York and around the country were absolutely "beyond words" in assisting each other. There were 3000 deaths that day and millions of heroes.

No TiVo. I have a TV right next to my computer, and thanks to having had a typing-teacher mother, whack out a rough transcript at about 60 WPM!

But since you mention TiVo, I have to describe my current favorite TV commercial (you know you're watching too much TV when you start talking about favorite commercials, and I've already posted this, but it *is* relevant to your comment):

It's an ad for a TiVo-like feature on Time Warner cable TV.

The ad opens with a married couple meeting with an interior decorator. The decorator is a young, very hip Asian woman, and she's slinging all sorts of hip decorator lingo: "I like colors that whet the appetite, savory colors that . . . "

Suddenly, the wife pipes up and says to her husband "oh, honey, Sex and the City is about to go on."

The husband replies: "go ahead, I can take care of this."

The wife is about to leave, but has a sudden image of what the living room will look like if the husband is allowed to make the decorating decisions. All these stuffed safari animals start popping up, the walls are covered with knotty pine, the couch with a cow hide, etc.

The wife turns back to the husband and snaps: "that's OK, I'll watch it later (since she has the TiVo feature.)"

Then she accuses him: "Dead animals? [pause] A gnu? [pronounced with two-drawn out syllables.]"

Of course the husband has absolutely no idea what she's talking about and gives her a totally befuddled look.

Priceless.

As I speculated in the original post, this has all the earmarks of a politican in search of some cheap publicity. I have no doubt that Hillary's people contacted Today and let them know that Her Highness would graciously make herself available.

This is the second rant against the EPA this week....the protest on the upgrading of Power plants and this...both related to Pollution. Hillary mentions Enron again..What's up??

Is Hillary trying to divert attention from the Clinton Role in letting Usama "run free" when they could have had him on a platter??

I just think that info should come out. Because it would certainly put Hillie's little quest in better context, wouldn't it?

My sense is that it's not so much about distracting attention as it is about attracting attention to herself, keeping an iron in the fire and her name out there, just in case she decides to jump into the presidential race at the last minute.

Short of the city being evacuated, what was the solution?

"Here's a question: Did the Today show book Hillie, or did Hillie book the show? Who made the call? Inquiring minds want to know..."

good question, but I bet the answer is, we won't get one. No doubt, Hillary has a standing invitation from TODAY, she can come anytime she likes without the phone, fax trail of who invited who.

But why today? She's laid low for several weeks now. I'm thinking the Clintons have what they wanted already in the bag and sewn up = Howard Dean will win the nomination, will lose the election, and Hillary will be the 2008 candidate running for an empty White House.

statement by Hillary: "I know a little bit about how White Houses work. Somebody told the EPA not to tell the people the truth,

Scarborough did a good short segment on that last night. During the 'Joe's Got Issues' segment, he took her statements and made the connection with how the Clintoon White House must have worked. The transcript is not posted yet, I'll keep an eye out for it, probably tommorow.

It should be blindingly obvious to all but the most biased of observers, that most liberals have absolutely no concern about issues in themselves, separate from their utility in bashing Bush.

After spending some time with some lib relatives, they reacted to every negative thing about Bush in their lib papers as if they had a lifelong concern about elevated levels of potassium carbonate in spinach plants, because Bush's Crawford cows were taking a whiz too near some vegetable farms, or something equally stupid.

When the issue failed to stick, and you'd later say "So they just found out all those spinach plants were being effected by deer, and not Bush's cows". Their inevitable response is a complete lack of interest - but an apoplectic outrage about how Bush personally knew that Shuttle tank foam had more cohesive properties in a blunt impact than previously thought - and thus, he personally murdered those astronauts.

Liberals need to be informed to their face - that they have lost all credibility in their criticisms, because their "concerns" and motives are clear.

Matt reads from a "scathing" editorial in Wall St. Journal, pointing out that when Hillary was in the White House, she wanted people to believe that she had no idea how the Rose Law Firm billing records miraculously turned up in her private quarters years after they were subpoenaed.

I saw that editorial today and I loved it! Did Matt quote up to and including "Who are we to argue?"

If my memory serves, yes, I do think Matt read the "who are we to argue?" line, eliciting the nervous-phony-hearty laugh from Hillary.

Maybe someone ought to ask her heinous how far up the food chain in Arkansas the decision came to give Tyson chicken plants a pass on dumping plant waste in the rivers there. A real nightmare that was covered up, I believe, because Tyson is a buddy of ol' Slick.

She's shifting into campaign mode.

That's my read too. Imagine you're a Dem presidential hopeful [FReepers have *very* good imaginations!].

You flip on Today, and there's Hillary. What's your reaction?

"Darn her, that could of been ME on the show. But n-o-o-o-o-o-o, Hillary has to suck all the PR oxygen out of the air. I bet she's running."

Do you believe that it's in doubt that she is going to run?

When the Nine Dwarves cancel each other out, she plans to ride into the nomination in a blaze of glory. . .the multitudes calling forth her name. . .the only one who can SAVE them.

Count on it.
