white-bread, cracker, honkey-American soldiers, That is a slur to me. But given the PC nature of this forum, the AM will let that stand.

Not to mention race in the American context is to be misleading for all the reasons I pointed out in previous posts. No, it's not. It's not misleading at all. I could care less what race these soldiers are. If you do, fine.

Dobie.
You must confess that black Americans convert to Islam at a rate at least 1000 times that of white christians.
I find that ironic. If black Americans wish to convert to what they percieve to be the mother religion, then they should convert to Animism much like unshaven hippie-goth chicks revert to Wiccan or Gaiaism.

I already responded to that issue in 38, FYI. No, that's a fact which I do not dispute. Nor do I think that it is relevant to this story. If the soldiers are black, then them converting to Islam is not news, is it? If it's not news, why include it in the story? Nathan's already answered his own question.

Indeed.
My family has been friends here in Nashville with a young woman who is half Iraqi/half Swedish-American for over 20 years.
She is one of the most attractive women my wife and I know. Her dad has been arrested once again for arms trading violations. He was in Iran Contra too.
I think she has basically disowned him. She is thoroughly American and Southern.

in the American context We live in the American context. People vote in the American context. There is no more visceral issue in America than race. Their votes affect my rights. If race is being manipulated to the costs of my rights, I will speak out.
I have not yet attained the high exaulted and serene place where I will concede my rights to news polemecists.

Racial indignation knows no bounds on this forum. And the race cops abound. Dobie policed you immediately and then launched into pejorative descriptions of whites immediately after insinuating that you are racially "insensitive" and have a dubious username (which I admire naturally).
It's tough being a nice white boy....somebody cry me a river please.

I thought women in Islam had their, um, sexual enjoyment ruined by an "operation" when they turned 12?? Is this only in Saudi?Egypt and other parts of Muslim Africa. Plus a few of the animists in Africa.
To: nathanbedford
There is no more visceral issue in America than race.Oh, I think some would disagree with you on that one.
If race is being manipulated to the costs of my rights, I will speak out.
What in the world are you talking about?
I have not yet attained the high exaulted and serene place where I will concede my rights to news polemecists.
How are "news polemecists" attempting to infringe upon your rights?

Dobie policed you immediatelyNo. I simply asked why the race of these two soldiers should be mentioned, that's all. I thought that perhaps he had an valid point ot make.

Illustrating absurdity by being absurd
immediately after insinuating that you are racially "insensitive"
See above.

Nothing dubious about it at all.

Illustrating absurdity by being absurd Does that mean it's ok for me to slur blacks to illustrate the absurdity you illustrated about another ansurdity? Somehow I doubt it.

I realize this is a neocon's worst nightmare but get over it. You're talking about American citizens currently risking their lives overseas. They, and their new wives, are welcome in the US. What is it you want me to get over, the Islamic Terrorist War against America ?
As for the American citizens currently risking their lives overseas, they disobeyed direct orders while on active duty in a combat zone. Their superior officers deemed their fraternization a security risk. Now, since you care more about a couple of troops who disobey such orders than those who are targets of Islamic terrorism, we will just have to agree to disagree.
If you read carefully you may notice I did not call for them to be courtmartialed and dishonorably discharged. I called for them to be discharged. If you know how to read critically you may also notice I did not call for them to be barred from returning to the United States as newly minted Moslems. They are of course free to return to the Florida Panhandle or any other area. Their wives should not be granted entry. I suggested that, since they said the shehada, they fully embrace their new faith in a native environment with the wives they have chosen and help build a Democratic Iraq. I do not want them rewarded by being able to bring their new wives (because they disobeyed direct orders) into the United States. I don't blame alNisa'a for marrying Americans, but there is no excuse for their disobedience of orders.
If you can't handle that, feel free to go live somewhere else.

37 year old corporal? He could have enlisted at age 35, or he could have taken a long break in service and re-enlisted (which would be an automatic drop in rank for the longer than 36 month absence). It happens.
To: finnman69
"It had to happen. But how do the GI's handle women with thicker beards and ass hair than them?"
LOL! you read my mind.
I guess this is a result of not rotating the troops quickly enough.
