As a side, do you think the Libyan government was sad that the WTC happened?

How about the syrian govt? The saudi?, the palestinians? the Yemani? Iran?

I dare say , there are a great many people in this world that rejoiced and danced in the street at the site of burning americans falling 100 stories to their deaths.

I will not hug them as my brother, and will forever watch them, and be very aware of their presence, their intent, and their (gasp) past actions against my county, and my fellow citizen.

>> and carried out by the officers down to the lowest private, with glee?

That would be a misrepresentation.

They couldn't afford boots for their privates who marched over winter passes with sandals. During one particular "campaign" to Sarikamish 80000 froze to death out of 100000 before even engaging the Russian enemy..

A Russian enemy ushered in by some gullible tribe in northeastern Turkey..

Then that tribe was deported away from the Russian front with the same extraordinary Ottoman (non) discipline. All sorts of terrible things happened as a result.

There wasn't any glee. Morale was at zero.

Kinda reminds me of the destruction in Atlanta and other cities in the South in the Civil War.

As Sherman said "War is Hell"

We wouldn't have a country if it weren't for him, and others' dreams were dashed because of him. That's why all the slander. Some fools still think they're going to reverse things and realize greater Greece, greater Armenia, etc..

3 or 4 million.. You people never cease to amaze me!

Musa Dagh! That's it! Thanks.

Once again, ARMS made the critical difference.

Once a subjugated despised minority is disarmed, genocide follows like night follows day.

The point is that the Turks not only have never accepted what was done, they not only lie about the genocide, they celebrate it to this day.

That tends to stick in people's throats.

Imagine Germans throwing an annual festive party on JudenFrei Day.

The problem with Islam is just "a few nuts?"

Must be blissful in Denialtown.

Philippines, Indonesia, Timor, India, Chechnya, Israel, Sudan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Nigeria, Algeria, I could go on and on and on.

What is the common denominator? Adherents of a religion, which when taken seriously, leads to bombing and slaughtering women and children in the name of their death-loving god.

Sure, smoking and drinking "slacker" Muslims like most Turks today can be rational, but when they start to REALLY study their Koran: watch out! The car bombs will follow like mushrooms follow rain.

Anyway, what kind of sick twisted "religion" promises an eternal orgy in paradise with 72 virgins, and rivers of wine, as a reward for blowing up infidel women and children?

Find me five mullahs who condemn terror for Allah, and I will find you 50 who demand it.

In Greece, the worst thing you can call someone is "Turk".

My paternal grandmother is from Smyrna. I still have relatives there.

My Aunt Lydia wrote a vanity press published book about my grandmother and her family:

SMOLDERING SMYRNA, by L. Kouroyen-Karagianis The Turkish forces move into Smyrna with death and destruction as their main objective. Thousands of people are butchered, homes and business are burned, and many thousands are left homeless. Polina's family witness the atrocities committed by the Turks. They seek refuge on board a ship to escape the conflict only to live in poverty among the already overcrowded citizens of mainland Greece. Polina's brothers who joined with the Greek army to fight the Turks, are never seen again. From her safe haven in Boston, Polina awaits for news from her family, telling her four children about the once beautiful Smyrna that she called home. Told with pathos and drama, this novel reminds the reader that the hatred which destroyed Smyrna is still alive. 172 pgs, 5.7x8.7, Cloth $ 17.95

Read The Black Dog of Fate.

Can't remember the name of the town, but they held off the slaughtering Turks with a few guns until Russian troops moved in to take the place over.

Why not.. That's what made you so rational, after all, and soon we'll be offering our tube steaks to each other's sisters and become fully civilized just like you..

LOL!

The problem with Islam is simple. There's no good leadership. There are a few bad leaders like those in Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi, or Libya. It's the effect of a vacuum left by the abolished Caliphate in post WW1.

You're a sucker for believing this version of events as told by these anti-Turk bastards. The Turks liberated Izmir after 3 years of occupation by a massacering Greek military. That's not invasion, that's liberation. There's a lot there you don't know about. Superflu lists a few things in a few posts above.

Musa dagh (Moses Mountain in Turkish) was Turkish territory. Think about Waco and what happened there on a much smaller scale. The davidians hadn't even murdered any non-Davidians like the Armenians did to all non Armenians on Musa Dagh and surrounding towns and villages. Were the women and children in either place to blame? but they suffered for it anyway.

The Greeks and Armenians of the day used the British, the Russians and the French to further their causes. They themselves were too weak. They're still doing it. Go ahead, be their sucker. They won't succeed regardless. But it will add another broken feather to your cap.

"Since Turkey is apparently vowing to fight its distribution (New York Times, Arts, 6/7/02) it remains to be seen whether the film will make it to the states."

Turkey's insistence on snuffing out the truth of the Ararate massacres most assuredly guarantees it will make it to the States. And Europe. And Asaia. And South America.
