I'm a volunteer in a crisis pregnancy center, and I spoke with a client on Friday who was proud to tell me she is pro-choice. We chatted while waiting for her test results, and I suggested that she give that opinion more thought, as abortion's not a quick-fix to a temporary inconvenience. I mentioned, for one thing, the memories carried for life after abortion- whether it's of the missed birthdays, reflecting on this child when others come along, or whatever. Her answer to me was that well, either way, it's tough- if you have an abortion or if you "keep the kid." Praise God- the test was negative and now I pray she still thinks about our talk.

When I volunteered at a CPC, it amazed me that the girls never wanted any part of adoption. They would say that no one else was going to raise their baby. So, they would chose to parent the baby or abort. No life or life choice, just life or death. It was heartbreaking and frustrating.

The best way to get free pregnancy tests was by going to the crisis pregnacy center. I had gone in twice (once with my first baby-- who was dead in utero, so it makes me sick thinking of the D&C and with my first living son). Each time they would leave me alone with the anti-abortion movies. With my third (living) child we had to get a test from a clinic in order to get insurance for the pregnancy. My two children and husband were with me, so I said, "I'm obviously going to keep my baby, so can we not show the anti-abortion movie?" We watched a movie about the baby's development instead.
I cannot understand how someone can not watch these movies and realize abortion is wrong. It's also interesting how the crisis pregnancy centers do follow-ups and even have abortion counseling, yet those who perform it do not.
