i don't see any reticence on your parts My parts rarely have any reticence on them; I'm a stickler for personal hygeine.

The two sections of the newspaper read by most subscribers are Sports and Entertainment/Comics. Most high-dollar advertisements are featured upon those pages. The two sections are read by children.
Solution: Call up advertisers and claim you are withholding your support of their services. Claim you represent a group. If it works for Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson it should work for you.

Why? Newspapers are private and they can publish what they wish, it being a free country and all that.

First there was Dick Dastardly trying to "stop the pigeon"
Now we have Doonesbury trying to "choke the chicken"

I was unaware of the controversy until today. I get the Boston Globe. There was a time when you could at least give kids that section of the paper. BTW - Today's Boondocks cartoon also crosses the line.

So your kids are taught the "how to's" of efficiant and effective masterbation as singles and couples in sex ed class at the local middle school and the adults worry about Doonesbury. That's nice.

donnesbury may be dropped from 21 or so dailies in the southeast, but the discussion of dropping them is causing quite a bit of controversy as well.

As I undestand it, ONE comics producer wants to drop it, and the papers all rely on him for their Sunday funnies. The papers themselves are perfectly free to run whatever they please in their own space. It's like saying a local TV station is "dropping" something that its upstream network no longer runs.
