your breakdown of this neurosis ailing the ACLU types is quite fascinating and now I wonder if there's a cure.

Sadly, no. The best course of action for the rest of us is "detach with love". We must insulate ourselves from the ravages of their toxic fear by rendering completely toothless their efforts to undermine religion.

"The Ten Commandments dispute is the tip of the iceberg in the ongoing battle to obliterate every acknowledgement of God except behind the closed doors of churches."

I would venture to say that the 'crusade' to obliterate acknowledgement of God will not stop at the door of the church, if this trend continues.

The good news is that, in the end, we know for certain who wins. :-)

"FR's SECULAR HUMANISTS will be here en masse"

A growing number, unfortunately, indeed.

If the 'scientists' show up, it becomes a re-run of "Night of the Living Dead"...

"At this juncture secular humanists and religious people are to a large extent on the same side, because they are all in favor of the continued existence of the human race."

I cannot agree with that statement. Secular people do not have the same view of who (God) how (creation) and why (to please God) we got here, and where we're going (heaven) and how (accept Jesus as your savior) to get there.

If you want to include or specify non-Christians when you make that statement, please clarify, then I might agree in a general sense.

"Secular Humanists have no capacity to "rock my world." They are wholly incapable of doing so. Only Christ can have such an effect on me."

BAM! You're a good [man-or-woman?] Skooz! Amen to that in spades!

Secular humanists aren't the only ones "rocking the Christian nation".

Agreed. There are many RINO's who have infiltrated the Reublican Party and are trying to hijack it from within...by trying to paint Christians as 'far right extremists' that will hurt the Republican/Conservative movement. This is false as the mainstream Conservative Republican base has been Christian for many years.

The next reply you tend to hear back from the RINO's at that point is about the evil 'Fundamentalist Christians'...then you know exactly who and what you are dealing with. Soon it degrades into comparisons of Christians to "The Taliban" or "Hitler"...etc.

In fact I saw one of the latter here on this thread, and I'll get to that in a few minutes!

'can I now conclude that all Christians are evil because the Nazis had belt buckles with "God with us" on them?'

You are not serious, I pray?

I was as serious about equating Christians with Nazis as I was when I deduced that all Secular Humanists are named Hitler.

But if you're interested in keeping tabs on who degraded whom by making equivocations between which and what, you might want to review what motivated my post in the first place.

(In retrospect, I'm starting to wonder (or more accurately, to hope) that kazatzkeh meant to reply to wardaddy, not 4integrity, in which case my terrible wrath has been misdirected).

Without Christians, the Republican Party would be as influential as the Libertarian Party.

Secular Humanists would be logically classified as antichrists. That is easily understood by reading Manifesto I & II. They are similar to Nazis in that both groups imagined genuine Christianity as their greatest enemy.

As for Nazi belt buckles, any reference to a deity would have been to a teutonic god like Odin, since Christianity and Judaism were marked for destruction and Hitler advocated following the teutonic gods of passion.

And on that note, I am always suspicious of Libertarians for reasons you point out. You've got to wonder sometimes if the VLWC plan is to infiltrate the Republican/Conservative party...it's a 'commie' kind of thing, can't help but be concerned about it.

You know what, I'll let you all in on a secret.

You know everyone who has made thinly veiled insinuations about the links between Nazism, Hitler, AntiChristians, the Secular Humanists, and Satan himself? Well guess what? They are right! Yes, that's right, they're right!

As a Secular Humanist myself, I can personally vouch for our involvement in all manner of persercution of good, God-fearing Christian men and women. Forget fighting poverty, oppression, unequal access to education -- that's all small-time. Our greatest enemy is those darn "love one another as I have loved you" Christians.

Why, I myself, just the other day, took my Christian neighbour's garden gnome and replaced it with a plaster bust of Hillary Clinton. Imagine that! And each Wednesday, we meet in the basement of the Supreme Court down the road to plot new ways to annoy Christians. Did your tyres get let down last month? That was us! We were trying to make you late for church. So, if you tread in dog poop this month, you'll know who to blame.

Just don't tell the others that I told you, ok?

Webster has humanitarianism as a synonym for humanism (gah) but also "a philosophy that usually rejects supernaturalism and stresses an individual's dignity and worth and capacity for self-realization through reason."

What's wrong with this? It certainly has little to do with the modern left which largely rejects reason as being "Eurocentric." And they are most definitely not interested in individual dignity as that tends to put a damper on race pimping.

No, Newland, `insulting' would be the continued misrepresentations and demonisations of non-Christians by select members of this forum. `Insulting' would be the complacent tolerance of such posts, while those who seek to speak against them are threatened with cc's to the moderator.

If I had a dollar for every time I have seen my own beliefs and those of other non-Christians equated to Nazism, terrorism, fascism and every other -ism in the short time that I've been here, I would have enough money to buy myself Sagan's complete works.

Nonsense? Yes, indeed it is. Complete and utter nonsense, to categorise me and other Secular Humanists as `enemies' and `antichrists'. I'm glad that we agree on that, I'm just sorry that I had exaggerate it to the point of ridiculousness before anyone actually recognised it for the nonsense that it is.

Nobody is forcing you to stay here. And if you want to stay here, you may want to learn how to contribute your point of view in a way that is constructive.

PS - this is a conservative web site by design and mostly Christian by participant. Maybe you would be more comfortable elsewhere.
