The other day reports of this (?) operation said that Omar was there and they thought they had him surrounded. Whatever happened to those claims?

Those claims appeared to stem from an early report by Norweigen Television. The Norweigen report was never substantiated, and our forces are probably still picking through the rubble to see who we may have gotten. I am trying to stay on top of the claim, though, and if anything pops up, I will post on my site and probably here as well.

This caught my eye........who are they hunting for..
Separately, at least 24 Pakistani military helicopters swooped in low over the tribal regions that border Afghanistan in a renewed hunt for fleeing al-Qaida and Taliban, witnesses said Thursday. Government officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said several of the helicopters carried ''foreign'' forces, an apparent reference to U.S. troops. The U.S. military earlier deployed an unknown number of special forces into Pakistan's rugged tribal regions, but their whereabouts are kept secret and they keep a low profile, largely because of the deeply conservative nature of the region.
