Although I often carry one, it is somewhat marginal for self defense. Definitely not heavy artillery.

Then again neither is the 9mm. For me, the minimum self-defense round is the .40 S&W.

Want to bet that the first cop didn't really sell the gun to the second (and now dead) cop? I'll further bet that the first cop sold the gun directly to the perp and if not to the perp, he sold it to a criminal.

So? I wasn't speaking about thePOWER, I was merely talking about the diameter of each. As far as the .380 "victim" walking out of the hospital....there's been people shot inthe head with a .45acp that have ALSO walked out, too.

God does work in mysterious ways.

I often carry my Sig 230, however I also live in a right restricted state (Kansas has NO provision for concealed carry), so concealability is an absolute must around here, lest a sheeple see your evil gun and call you in. The 230 is sleek and drops into my inside coat pocket with no printing on the outside.

.380 is better than nothing.

Is the Sig 230 an older version of the current P232? If so, it's a great gun. Looks a little like the Walther PP, but far better made. ...And reliable as can be. Indeed, it is far better than nothing. But I'd prefer a Sig P239 in .40. It's not quite as concealable as yours, but it's close. ...and it has significantly greater firepower.

It looks to me like the cops actually did this homeless man a favor.

1) The "homeless" man now has a nice room to sleep in with shower facilities/toilet/sink and food to eat.

2) Everything he needs now is paid for at taxpayers expense.

3) Removing the man from the street has probably increased property values, which the government can increase tax revenue from.

4) There is no way the "homeless" man can come up with $100,000 therefore he should plead guilty and live the good life in jail where he can get a free college education and job training if he wants.

It would be interesting to know what the bail was for Tapia the last time he was arrested on a felony charge, wouldn't it?

Could this be Cook County Judge Marvin Luckman, who set the bail?
