Saudi beheaded for smuggling marijuana into kingdom

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) - A Saudi drug trafficker was beheaded Sunday, a Ministry of Interior statement said.

Dhaher bin Thamer al-Shimry was convicted of smuggling marijuana into the kingdom, the statement said.

Al-Shimry was beheaded in the eastern province of Hafr al-Baten, bringing the number of beheadings in the kingdom this year to 41, most of them drug traffickers. At least 49 people were beheaded last year.

This conservative Gulf country follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which people convicted of drug trafficking, murder, rape and armed robbery are executed. Beheadings are carried out with a sword in public.

Heads always lose their heads, one way or the other.

No smuggling marijuana in to the Kingdom.

Only the finest home-produced Hashish is to be used in the Royal Hookahs.

I see Arabia don't like pot heads.

Actually it was Arabs and related Muslim regions that foisted pot on the rest of the world as a drug.

Islamofascist dreams have been fueled by their magic carpet rides.

There's not much of a drug-smuggling problem in the Kingdom I suppose.

In Saudi hellhole Arabia, you can legally beat your 4 wives and children into bloody pulps, but you get beheaded for smoking a doobie? What a piece of s**t excuse for a country.

"Actually it was Arabs and related Muslim regions that foisted pot on the rest of the world as a drug."

First of all, 'pot' is an ignorant dysphemism! as are "weed" and "dope" for what is an herb gifted by God in Gen 1:29 but expressly forbidden for a muslim. Second, it has been documented to have been cultivated since the very beginning of agriculture and present virtually worldwide throughout time.

& it's seeds (also mentioned in the Bible) have the perfect amino acid profile for humans the world over.

Not to mention it grows itself (no "corp. farming" needed) & the rest of the plant is industrially useful (18,000 uses & counting).

well we certinly found out that one use of marijauna was to supply a way for governments to excercise control over the populus. i.e. the war on drugs.

Dear Valentine,

This egregious injustice is far worse than an eye for an eye and certainly does not live up to the peace, love and wisdom of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 5
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 5:7
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

With respect, "no sale".

If we chopped off a few heads of the big traffikers (sic! how do you spell it anyway) that would be a deterrant, I believe.

Certainly, you were not trying to cast aspersions on me with that Isaiah 14 quote because you should know that it continues and describes your position quite well.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

You would reign with such wrath against a bearer of an herb gifted from God. Such hubris rivals satan's and would surely bring about anarchy.
Because for all too many it will be do or die. And, anarchy
will provide a better chance for their survival than fascism.
You seriously underestimate the number of anarchists
of varied varieties which exist in this country.
Nearly half the people don't vote,
Nearly 40% have guns,
do you think only voters have guns?
what party are they?
which straw will break the elephant and donkey's back.
With VICTORY

just around the corner the stakes will be raised.
Deterrants may have worked once, but not today.

That wouldn't make a significant difference. Dealers now face an imminent threat of death from competitors or twitchy customers, yet they continue dealing, and when one dies or is arrested another springs up to take his place.
