On the second anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on New York and Washington, the leader of the Muslim Salafi al-Muhajiroun Movement, Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammad, praised al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden whom he described as "the lion of the Muslim nation."

He said the British authorities banned his group from organizing a conference to mark the second anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, under the slogan "the magnificent 19 martyrs," in reference to the suicide air pirates who carried out the New York and Washington attacks.
