It is well known that "The Boss" is a highschool dropout. As the holder of two higher education degrees, the Boss is certainly someone who I will take my political cues from. His education is showing on this one. The education of those in the audience who booed is also showing.

He is a gifted songwriter and performer, but otherwise an unpopular idiot, according to his highschool classmates.

Woodie Guthrie is one of his big artistic influences:

Lead Belly, Cisco Houston, Burl Ives, Pete Seeger, Will Geer, Sony Terry, Brownie McGhee, Josh White, Millard Lampell, Bess Hawes, Sis Cunningham, among others, became Woody's friends and collaborators, taking up such social causes as Union organizing, anti-Fascism, strengthening the Communist Party, and generally fighting for the things they believed in the only way they knew how: through political songs of protest. http://www.woodyguthrie.org/biography.htm

Hmmm...

He was always like this.I saw him in the 80s born in the USA tour. He put down the country then. While Klinton was in office he kept his mouth shut.
I say shut up get off the stage and go to France!!!

My image of Springsteen changed when I got the box set he put out in the late 80's. I think the song is "The River" and there's a lead in where he talks to the audience. He recalls in detail how he and his buddies stayed up for about three days without sleep so they would be found medically unfit to serve in Viet Nam.

The Boss is a draft dodger. He can kiss my ass.

The Left has truly gone nuts. They are absolutely obsessed with hating Bush. They are Pete Stark-raving mad. They can't sneeze without turning it into some anti-Bush meltdown.

Bush is a Christ-like figure........bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders as well as the hate.

I believe history will treat him very well!!

"Whaddaya mean sing. He never could sing, just scream. One of the most over rated rockers ever."

Agreed. Springsteen rose to fame during what I would call a huge drought of new talent. His vocal range is no better than Tiny Tim with bronchitis.

Springsteen's music has always been overhyped. It's melodramitic pabulum. Very analogous to bad soap opera -- musically and lyrically.

I cant belive Bruce is comitting 'career suicide' like this, a lot of his fans are the same NYFD who booed Hillary off the stage.

Springsteen is representative of the sissy elite.

He would bend over backwards for Barney Frank but he could not face George W. Bush eye-to-eye!!

It's always struck me that the party of tolerance does not tolerate conservatives. The party of free speech does not accept other's viewpoints well at all.

Exactly!

I always thought that Bruce was an 'old school' populist, but I guess I was wrong.

Laura Ingram was plugging it on Drudge just the other day. Sounds interesting.

Could you imagine spending $100 at a restaurant, and at the same time, have the waitress come up to you and Bush Bash??

I'll never understand how a performer (music, acting, etc.) can earn so much money, PAY SO MUCH IN TAXES, and yet be a liberal.

Though I always liked this one:

The Price You Pay

You make up your mind, you choose the chance you take
You ride to where the highway ends and the desert breaks
Out on to an open road you ride until the day
You learn to sleep at night with the price you pay

Now with their hands held high, they reached out for the open skies
And in one last breath they built the roads they'd ride to their death
Driving on through the night, unable to break away
From the restless pull of the price you pay

Oh, the price you pay, oh, the price you pay

Now you can't walk away from the price you pay

Now they'd come so far and they'd waited so long
Just to end up caught in a dream where everything goes wrong
Where the dark of night holds back the light of day
And you've gotta stand and fight for the price you pay

Oh, the price you pay, oh, the price you pay
Now you can't walk away from the price you pay

Little girl down on the strand
With that pretty little baby in your hands
Do you remember the story of the promised land

How he crossed the desert sands
And could not enter the chosen land
On the banks of the river he stayed
To face the price you pay

So let the game start, you better run you little wild heart
You can run through all the nights and all the days
But just across the county line, a stranger passing through put up a sign
That counts the man fallen away to the price you pay, and girl before the end of
the day
I'm gonna tear it down and throw it away
