[history]
September 18, 2003 -- Facing mounting criticism from immigrant communities and pressure from the City Council, Mayor Bloomberg yesterday strengthened his "don't tell" policy on someone's immigration status to "don't ask, don't tell." Bloomberg had changed the immigration-reporting policy in May in order to ensure the city was not violating federal law.

Bloomberg is a liberal fag who is a one term joke. We should sue him for having the (R) next to his name.

There is something here that my brain just refuses to wrap around. The cops are not supposed to report to the controlling legal authority if someone is breaking the law.
To: kattracks
This is nothing less than the breakdown of the rule of law. Americans have been given a clear signal they can refuse to obey any law with which they disagree. Lawlessness begets lawlessness.

"When the parents of an immigrant child forego vaccination for fear of being reported to the federal immigration authorities . . . we all lose," Bloomberg said. When landmark buildings crash to earth ....we all lose.

Yes but this so much better than Democrat doing
the same thing.
A RINO is sooo much better than Democrat.
Just what California needs Arnold its very own
Governor Bloomberg!

The cops are not supposed to report to the controlling legal authority if someone is breaking the law. The police enforce the will of the government which mostly, but not always, coincides with the law. You can rest assured that if you own an unregistered firearm, sit on a crate on the sidewalk, have too large an awning in front of your store, or much worse defend yourself from a criminal in NYC, the NYC police will be all over you like flies on $hit.
This is yet another example of why islamic terrorists are not only evil, but stupid as well. Who is the greater threat to your life and liberty, Osama bin Laden or Hitlery Clinton and upChuckie Schumer? Which is more likely to do something that will lower your standard of living or take away your freedom?
Klinton and Schemer are doing far more damage to this country than bin Laden in his most fervent dreams cound imagine, yet the terrorists attacked their natural allies, New Yorkers, the very people who along with the electorate in MA, CT, NJ, RI, CA, MD, and IL send dedicated marxist/statists to Kongress to destroy the county.

And Bloomie is a Republican. Aren't we proud? Can you say...One termer? This guy is nuts. Absolutely stark raving bonkers.

And Bloomie is a Republican. Who was a registered Democrat until the month before the election.
To: ETERNAL WARMING
And you're right, he'll be a one termer.

But that revised policy led to widespread fear in immigrant communities because it reversed a longstanding rule that prevented city employees, such as police officers or social service workers, from reporting the immigration status of residents to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. What is wrong with this nutcase? City employees should be receiving bonuses for turning in invaders for immediate expulsion, never to return again.
Where's the money to come from? How about taxes that would be collected if restaurant owners were given back their constitutional right to determine whether or not their patrons could smoke?
Restaurant owners who let patrons smoke are turned in and fined, but invaders are left alone?
How nutty is Bloomberg, anyway?

"When landmark buildings crash to earth ....we all lose."
Bush's dream of amnesty for illegals was crushed on Sept 11. Obviously he has given the green light to Bllomberg to do the next best thing - look the other way while real Americans are losing their jobs. Conservatives have to stop kidding themselves about what the real Bush agenda is.

someone's immigration status to "don't ask, don't tell." Maybe he should apply the same type of justice to smokers - if no one in a bar or restaurant complains about the smoking, nobody gets fined. Oh nevermind, there's the key word - "fined". They can't make any money by busting illegal aliens, but they make a buttload from fining the legal citizens, which, in turn, finances the programs that benefit the illegal aliens.

Just go buy yourself one of those Mexican I.D. cards and then go smoke all you want, anywhere you want.
If a cop says anything, just start screaming 'ray-ceest, ray-ceest, ray-ceeeest!!!'
That'll get him running faster than a bunch of gang-bangers pulling out loaded, fully-auto, AK 47s. ;^)

such as police officers or social service workersAnd what type of people are going to social service workers? The exact type that should be deported first. Also those committing crimes need to go.

I believe that's "rah-ceest!" I don't want anyone to get into trouble at the consulate for using the wrong phony accent, and lose out on his precious matricula consular.
