Make up your mind. You can't blame somebody else and still claim to put your "head on the block". Either your accountable or not.
At least Tom, was willing to put his head on the block.
Then I expect him to acknowledge the failure of the car tax referendum. Alert those working on the DL referendum that there are no sure things. Knowing that he couldn't even get the car tax referendum going, the DL referendum will be tougher. Everybody in the public was against the car tax not so with the DLs.
Given the information from the previous referendum and given the way Arnold is beat over the head with the DL referendum, it's obvious that McClintock hopes to gain some advantage in the Governors race from the DL referendum but does not expect the referendum to succeed. You do notice the lack of warnings about the previous failure?
You really hate Tom, don't you?
You guys hold him out as perfect, that invites others to find fault with your candidate. "Hate" is a little strong, don't you think?
Perfect, NO but you bend things to your onw purpose, and so does others, Bug deal. Get a grip. Who's inviting who here to find fault? You guys seem more driven by spite than anything, and around here lately, it takes its a form of animosity that , imo, can beconstrued as hate. Your win at any cost is what is driving all this dissension around here, imo. Keep it up! You're only driving people away. (or is that your goal?) hhmmmm?
Oh yeah a big factor in the recall. Not mentioned once in the following article nor is the car tax referendum mentioned.
The guy who paid for the recall unintentionally vaulted your boy into the limelight.
Issa's bid to recall governor questioned
"Dirty tricks" killed the referendum on the car tax? Looks to me like lose lips tipped off the Dems. Threaten to use a referendum before the law is passed, they make it referendum proof. Their lawyers are better than McClintock's part time lawyer, then and now.
He's doing it now, but a bit differently. He couldn't do it until the car tax was imposed. It's been imposed, and Tom has followed through. You bad mouth him for not doing something that wasn't possible to do yet. As soon as it was possible, he did it in spades.
He's gone the route of initiative instead of referendum. A referendum could only appeal the car tax, leaving it where it would have been before the increase.
The initiative is a constitutional provision that not only repeals the car tax increase, but reapeals the car tax ALTOGETHER. It punishes the politicians for messing with it in the first place.
Tom has not only followed through on his promise, he has improved it.
You shouldn't make these kinds of statements when you don't understand the process.

I know thw process. I said he tipped his hand. Meaning he should have kept his mouth shut and hit them with the referendum AFTER it was law. He warned them and they made it referendum proof.
"Sacramento will not see one cent of the increased car tax" - Tom McClintock when warning Democrats of the referendum on Jan. 23, 2003
My fees have tripled. Sacramento has my money.
Yes you did, after tophat9000 explained the process. People can read the thread.
