Schwarzenegger Calls for Davis to Reconvene Legislature to Extend Megan’s Law

Arnold Schwarzenegger released the following statement today regarding the legislature and governor’s neglect of California’s “Megan’s Law,” which allows for public access to information about registered sex offenders in their community.

“I am upset that the legislature would adjourn and leave Sacramento without renewing the public’s right to have access to the Megan’s Law registry of sex offenders.

“Megan’s Law has been a tremendous tool for parents to keep their children safe, secure and away from predators. I endorse Assembly Minority Leader Dave Cox’s call that the governor immediately reconvene the legislature to extend Megan’s Law.

“If Gray Davis and the legislative leadership fail to act upon Mr. Cox’s request, then I assure all Californians that upon taking office, I will call the legislature back into session to reinstate the public’s access to Megan’s Law. We should be moving forward in our commitment to keep children safe – not retreating.”

Isn't it interesting how fast you believe Davis and Bustamante and how it takes weeks and you still can't find anything you trust Schwarzenegger about?

Hey Roscoe, why don't you do a time study on how fast you found Bustamante and Davis' views as compared to weeks of real or feined ignorance on your part regarding Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger may raise taxes
Michael McKenna in Los Angeles
22aug03

ARNOLD Schwarzenegger was given his first political lesson yesterday when he abandoned his monosyllabic campaign script and opened the door to raising taxes if he were elected governor of California.

At his first major press conference, the Republican candidate admitted that although he did not want to raise taxes "we can't ever say never" to new revenue-raising measures to attack the state's $US38 billion (58 billion) budget deficit.

Assembly"woman" Nicole Parra ("queen of voter fraud") is the reason Megan's Law is in trouble in CA. I resent Arnold grandstanding and exploiting this issue. It's disgusting!!! The democrats should demand that Parra resign over this.

The problem with Arnold is that you can't believe what he says. Like those commercials on the radio - about how he is outraged over Prop 13 opponents. I keep remembering how Buffet said he thinks we Californians don't pay enough property tax. And I keep remembering how Arnold called me (and supporters of Prop 54, racial privacy initiative) RIGHT WING CRAZIES. I am also aware that Arnold refused to sign the Marriage Protection Pledge.

So you can go on and on about how you adore and worship Schwarzenegger. I AIN'T BUYIN' ANY OF IT!!

Go, McClintock. www.helptom.com

Arnold's taking a strong stand on this issue helps bring it to the attention of the voters... and shines a bright light on the cockroaches deliberately allowing more children to become victims of repeat offenders.

As far as the democrats demanding Parra resign, perhaps you could ask McClintock to have one of his buddies at the DNC take care of that?

The problem with Tombots is you can expect the obvious temper tantrum every time Arnold proves again to stand for conservative ideals :-)

Almost as "conservative" as Cruz and Davis.

You know Schwarzenegger raising this issue is so political. But please don't bother mentioning that McClintock agreed with Bustamante to go after Scharzenegger in tandom. Thanks in advance.

I hate to ask this because you may take it too personal, but you do realize Buffett and Schwarzenegger are two diffrent people right? I just want to be sure here.

Buffett is the one not running for office right? And questions so far?

>>> ...Arnold proves again to stand for conservative ideals <<<

I think what REALLY torks their corks is Arnold's ability to advance agendas in progress, or in limbo.

Didn't Ronaldus Magnus actually keep a plaque on his very desk in the Oval Office which said:
"A man can accomplish anything if he doen't mind who takes the credit."

Why of course not. You can't find anything you don't want to. Besides you are so much more motivated to work for Bustamante, Davis and McClintock. I know I know. I'm making allowances bud.

Well this subject has been in the news. I sure didn't hear Gray make any calls on this. The first I heard about anyone saying something about it was Arnold. I guess he should have remained silent on it so nobody would know. I mean in the interest of the state and it's children and all. Raising the visibility is so democrat you know.
