The reason why these welfare families are getting wonderful new homes while elderly taxpayers are living in smaller, older houses is due to the dynamics of our current empire. The blacks are well organized and whites are not. Hence, the system caters to the blacks and extracts resources from other groups for their benefit.
Sadly, the only antidote for this situation is counter-organization by competing tribes to shield themselves from the depredations of the other groups.
This dynamic is the reason why multicultural empires are always unstable and do not last in the long run.
Possibly. I came to small l libertarianism from the left as opposed to the right. In my late teens I was a member of the Peace and Freedom party and in my twenties I was a Democratic operative for Willie Brown.
In my thirties I came to the realization that working for Willie Brown was worse than working For Tony Soprano. Along with that came the realization that power itself is corrupting and therefore it is better that power have checks and balances (ie, competition and voluntarism).
Having been a defacto Marxist, I understand the rationale behind the idea that government should be used as an instrument to correct social injustice. However, I have come to the realization that it is not possible because the rich and powerful will always seize it for themselves, as they did in the Soviet Union, and as they do now through Social Security and Medicare; as well as the financing of the abortion and environmental industrial complexes, elitist educational institutions, etc.
So I guess I still talk like a Marxist at times because that is my frame of reference. I hate social injustice, but I conclude that government is, always has been, and always will be a failure as an instrument for correcting it. In fact, in all previous cases in history, government has become a vehicle for propogating social inequity, and that certainly is the case in America today. Therefore, best limit it (our Constitution, if enforceable, would be a good starting point) and accept personal responsibility as a better foundation for building a workable civilization.
There are many out there like me who came to support constitutionalism from the left. David Horowitz comes to mind, but I know there are many others.
That's fine with me. Converting a garage to a living area without home improvement code permit is illegal. Especially if you collect rent.
