Arab 'tried to open jet door at 30,000ft'
Electronic Telegraph ^ | 20/09/2003 | Chris Boffey

Posted on 09/19/2003 7:37:48 PM PDT by aculeus

An Arab who allegedly tried to open the door of an Airbus A321 carrying 105 passengers and crew as it flew at 30,000ft over the North Sea has been charged with endangering an aircraft.

Brahim Sbaoui, 33, was held by cabin crew after the pilot alerted them to alleged tampering with a rear door.

Sbaoui was a passenger on the Airbus on a flight from Heathrow to Norway. Fearing for the safety of his passengers the Scandinavian Airlines captain immediately diverted back to Heathrow for an emergency landing.

Sbaoui was taken off the aircraft and arrested.

After being interviewed by police he was charged with attempting to endanger an aircraft and acting in a manner to endanger the aircraft.

The incident cost Scandinavian Airlines an estimated £50,000 which included the cost of passengers staying overnight in hotels. Yesterday, Sbaoui, who lives in Norway, appeared before Uxbridge magistrates.

He told the court that he was an innocent man and applied for bail.

The presiding magistrate Enid Payne, who was told that Sbaoui had declined to be legally represented, said: "After very careful consideration this court is not prepared to release you on bail."

Sbaoui, who had been visiting Britain to collect a visa from Saudi Arabia's embassy in London, was remanded in custody until Monday.

Sorry about the "thispostisavacuum" keyword.

When I originally tried reading the post, only the headline showed up -- no text body, not even a way to reply. Just "report abuse" and "add keyword."

Even tried reloading the page a few times, to no avail.

When I came back just now, the whole article appeared.

There have been a few posts about this incident on FR in the last 24 hours.

The only reason that this loser was not beaten down HARD is that there were no Americans on that flight.

I will not fly unless I have to, but if some shiitehead wants to make trouble on my flight, he does so at risk of his kneecaps.

Evidently, he wasn't Saudi, if he needed a visa to go there, probably for the Haj.

Or he went to the Saudi Embasssy for another reason. To get orders. Since the doors are monitored the "visa" is the cover story.

Remember, about a month ago Zawahiri's (AQ #2) pointed out Norway for attacks. Norwegian special forces are racking up a score in Afghanistan.

Is it going to take another 300, 400 plus innocent souls to die in an airliner before we finally don't allow Muslims, Arabs, Muslim/Arabs to fly in non Arab aircraft? If Egypt Air wants all the Arabs flying business, fine. Just keep the towel heads off any airplane I'm on. (no sarcasm intended)

Good point! And isn't the Saudi Ambassador in London the one identified as having met with senior Al Qaeda? And isn't he the one being sued by 9-11 families for his connections to AQ - and isn't he also the "Poet" whose verses extoll suicide/homicde bombings against Israelis?

Forgot the Ambassador's name. Al-??

Men with knives held at airport [UK: Total of 6 men stopped from boarding]

September 10, 2003 05:32

A MAN was cautioned and another given "words of advice" following an incident on a passenger plane at Stansted Airport, police said.

Two men carrying knives in their hand luggage were stopped from boarding a Ryanair flight to Oslo, Norway, shortly before 7am yesterday.

Police said the men were questioned on suspicion of committing offences under the Criminal Justice Act following the incident.

"One man has this afternoon been cautioned in connection with offences under the Criminal Justice Act following two separate incidents at Stansted airport earlier today," said the spokesman.

"Another man has been given suitable word of advice by police."

Sources said there was no suggestion of any concerted attempt at a terrorist attack.

The spokesman added: "The incident occurred shortly before 7am as passengers were boarding a Ryanair flight to Norway.

"Two men who were not travelling together [allegedly...] and were separate from each other were each found to be in possession of a small knife. They were detained and arrested by police."

The spokesman said a 34-year-old British man from south-east London and a 43-year-old Norwegian man were arrested.

He said the Briton was travelling alone.

The Norwegian was a Muslim who was travelling with four other Norwegian Muslims, added the spokesman.

They were returning to Oslo after a short stay in Britain.

The spokesman added: "The two arrested men have now been dealt with.

"The man from London was cautioned for possession of a bladed article contrary to the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

"These two men along with the other four men have now been allowed to continue with their journeys to Norway." ...

Interesting. The fact mentioned by "Nighthawk" that Norway has been taking in "refugee's" lately, as a humanitarian gesture is telling. Being nice to these people is an invitation to a bombing. Muslim refugee = resident terrorist.

Saudi Ambassador to London: I Long to Die as a Martyr;

New Saudi Ambassador Summonsed Over Sept 11

An American court has issued a summons against the next Saudi Ambassador to Britain alleging that in his previous job he helped to fund Afghanistan's Taliban regime while it was sheltering Osama bin Laden, lawyers said yesterday.

The summons has been issued to Prince Turki al Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence, ordering him to respond to a compensation claim for more than $600 billion (£400 billion) brought by the families of victims of last year's September 11 terrorist attacks. ...

AQ is the Secret Army of Saudi Arabia. A black ops of sorts. Not totally controllable by the House of Saud, but 90% in conformity. Saudi money to AQ for "protection" is lies - its direct support, and guides AQ to serve it's oil policy, eg disrupting competitors Iraq, Caucasus and Central Asia.

Some astute freeper picked up on that the plane was going to "North Africa". That was the only hint this could be Muslim terrorism.

When you consider that aircraft doors are designed so they open inward and the cabin pressurization forces the doors to stay closed, that was one dumb Arab.

From Norway's Aftenposten:

Story link

A Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) flight bound for Oslo from London Heathrow had to turn back after a passenger repeatedly tried to open a back door while the plane was in the air. SAS officials said the flight was never in danger, but several eyewitnesses feared the worst before the flight crew managed to calm the man.

Several of flight SK 510's passengers told newspaper VG that they were frightened during the short trip.

"We left Heathrow around 5:30 pm and had flown about half an hour when a giant of a North African went back in the plane and tried to push down the handle and release the main door. He seemed very determined," an Norwegian passenger who remained anonymous told VG.

"The man was about two meters tall (6'-6-1/2") and weighed about 140 kilos (300 lbs). He seemed to be on something, because he had a murderous look," another nervous passenger told the newspaper.

SAS information consultant Trine Loevberg explained that it is not possible to open the doors in the air, and a lamp immediately went off in the cockpit when the door was touched the first time. The pilot then announced that there was something wrong with the main rear door.

Shortly after the first attempt the large passenger gave the door another try.

"He started to fiddle with the handle and then put a lot of force behind it. I thought that he was either completely crazy, or an unsuccessful terrorist. He seemed to be in a trance," a passenger said.

Cabin crew attended to the unruly passenger and managed to keep him calm. The pilot decided that the wisest course was to turn the plane back to London.

"The man was completely calm and, according to the captain, appeared very lethargic. Besides protesting about the return to London he was not aggressive at all. He was not drunk either," Loevberg said.

Seven British police officers took the passenger into custody after landing, and also confiscated a large black sack the man had with him.

Assuming a difference of 8 psi between outside and cabin pressure, and a door 3 ft by 7 ft, there are 24,192 pounds of force holding the door closed.

Are the sheeple in the US ever going to get the picture that these bstrds are just nuts, and want to go see Allah?

My vote is that we take the ACLU and the rest of the furry faces, and send them to the dunes, and what is left of them when the allah types get through with them...bring what's left of them home to recuperate.

May God Bless the USA.

I always carry a small roll of duct tape and a tupperware container full of SPAM whenever I fly now a days.

The duct tape is to restrain a terrorist (after a gentleman like yourself subdues him) and the SPAM (pork product that Muslims have a intense fear of) is to smear on the terrorist. I want the jerk to know that he ain't going to paradise, nor will he get 72 raisins, er, virgins while he's covered with pig fat should he try to detonate a bomb or something.

Thus far, no security person has taken these two items from me. One poor soul did open the container and just about gagged. I produced a spoon, ate a bite, and told the screener that I needed protein every few hours due to a Type II diabetes condition. (I wasn't lying. I have Type II and I might have need of some SPAM.)

AQ is the Secret Army of Saudi Arabia.

It would appear likely, though I would tend toward the "Wahabies" religious motives, than oil. When Saudi, "Prince Bandar" (?), was at Crawford, TX with Bush, not long after 9/11, something started to smell about the Saudi's. If I had been Bush, I would have told him that the Saudi's had one year to turn over Bin Laden to US custody, or I would "nuke" Mecca.

Really we need to start getting those little pot bellied pigs into all our homes and of course airports. They hate those worse than they hate dogs. Or it would be very good for every flight to have a couple big dogs to walk up and down the aisles. Arabs are real superstitious about dogs --- but also dogs have a way of sizing people up.

It does make sense. Especially because at the airport, they're going to take away anything you might have to defend yourself with ---- even your knitting needles --- so spam would be something you could get on with and use in self-defense. I'm going to remember it. If I see any Arabs on a flight, I'm just going to make sure they see my can of spam and give them a warning look.
