This is not necessarily gospel, for I've already had one senior moment today, but the wording of Ron Frey's denial was a little suspect. Seems to me that he was denying specifically that Amber had ever spoken to Laci directly on the phone. IIRC, it did not rule out the possibility that she might have phoned the residence. Maybe Scott answered, or possibly no one was at home, and she could have left a message.

Absolutely, "the wording was a little suspect." Bingo! Now, I didn't see him say this--I didn't see him on TV--but we know people will sometimes split hairs when it comes to telling the whole story, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ron were one of those who pulls that sort of trick.
