"We're going to try and get ahead. All they are doing with this program is making our lives harder."

Are we obligated to make their lives easier?

"The PRI controlled Mexico longer than the Bolsheviks controlled the Soviet Union."

Why don't we just make Mexico the 51st State and be done with it? Not a problem for me! Is it a problem for Mexies? Will too many gringos go down and buy you up? A very nice place to retire, you know! One little problem, though... there would be a lot of Anglo women who would be lonely.. and a lot of Latin men also lonely!

I can understand Castillian Spanish, but hardly what is spoken by folks in the southern hemisphere:):)

One problem is that they hate us.

If they had sense, they'd at least modernize as China is, but even that would give us too much influence in their country.

Most people do not realize the degree of influence of the Mexican revolution, and indeed, the Russian Revolution of 1917 still has on the population of Mexico.

The dark-skinned people hate the light-skinned people who control Mexico.

The 1917 revolution, the Mexican revolution. How about the Spanish revolution of 1936? Franco turned out to be what the country needed to modernize!

Seen any modernization in Mexico in the last 80 years?

They nationalized the oil industry, and there's been no inclination to privatize it.

They're losing out to the Chicoms. For example, TJ used to be the world center for assembling tv sets. No more.

For 20 years American, German and Japanese auto co's have been assembling autos in Mexico. Has one Mexican auto maker emerged? Nada. No so China, they are borrowing world auto technology and will be selling cars in the U.S. within 5 years. By 2020 China expects to be a major producer of autos.

There's no excuse for Mexico to be a basket case. If they'd modernize their legal system, many Americans would retire in Mexico, thereby bringing badly-needed dollars.

The pilot program has caused anger on the Mexican side, where town officials say they are ill-equipped for the influx of deportees.

I don't want to sound mean-spirited here, but---deal with it!
