No offense meant, but if she was married why would she be "Ms. Goode"?

If we want our children to be professionals they need not be named "Prescot", but Sequoia Branch (my youngest's preschool classmate) is not a true alternative.

ditto... why would they say 'child's father' if they're married? Illegitimacy and all that comes with it is far worse than being named whatever a 'black name' is.

Betraying her ethnicity... GIVE ME A FRIGGING BREAK. No wonder why the immigrants are steamrolling over many Americans born and bred here already. I agree with you about all of us being Americans.

Ms. signifies neither married nor single (PC women's lib stuff). Mrs = married.

"Isabell Mary"

I like that, it's a nice name. Not sure how black it is, but very Cath-o-lique, as my mom-in-law says humourously.

You can give your kids names that are less common without being outlandish. There was a girl one year ahead of me in high school that already had a son named DePriest. She said she got the name out of the yellow pages from an auto repair shop. I think that in their attempt to be different, some blacks are subjecting their kids to ridicule for life. African names would be cool, but just making names up makes no sense to me. Anyone remember Orangejello and Lemonjello (pronounced Uh-ron-juh-lo and luh-mon-juh-lo)?

Knew a guy with the last name of Cretin. Instead of pronouncing it with the short 'e,' he tried to make everyone say Creeetin which of course means the exact same thing as cretin.

Hee hee......that's funny.

Now that you mention it, you almost never see a black person with a "Jr." after his name.

Yeah I hate those stupid yuppie names also. Ex. Madison, Mckenzie, Rivers, and Delaney. I guess I am a little old fashion and less trendy.

My best friend from high school's only daughter is named "Madison."

I have two nephews and a niece named "Taylor", and one named "Hunter". Geez! Where are the Mikes and Harrys, Davids and Steves , Johns, Jims, Charlies, et al, anymore?
