You raise an interesting point. I'm on record six weeks ago in predicting that Schwarzenegger who's running against 134 other candidates will outpoll Davis who's running against himself. But I was more specific than that.
There WILL be a "drop-off" between the total valid votes cast on the recall question, to the total valid votes cast to replace Davis. I expect the drop-off to be around 10%. So it is possible that Davis will receive more votes "for" him, i.e. not to recall him, than Schwarzenegger receives to be the new Governor.
But I predicted, and stand by that, that Schwarzenegger will receive a greater percentage of the replacement vote, than Davis receives of the recall vote. And I expect both parts of the ballot -- to recall and then to replace -- to be won by a landslide, i.e. 10% or more.
The results of this election will be crystal clear even before the absentee ballots have all been counted. The reason is that absentee ballots are "more Republican" than the live votes cast at the polls. Therefore, the counting of the absentees will only extend the margin by which Davis loses, and Schwarzenegger wins.
Though the official declaration of the results may take a few days (during which Davis and his chronies apparently intend to shred documents), the actual outcome will be known by about 9:30 pm Pacific. It could be known earlier, if the exit polls which will be taken during the day and embargoed, manage to leak out onto the Internet.

You just can't see how shrill Arnold supporters are because you are 'dumber than dirt'. The 'dumber than dirt' is a quote from a McClintock supporter.

What are you talking about? SurveyUSA had Granholm winning by 6, not 13 -- we were only 2 points off. Look here (3rd poll down from the top) or see the full report here. I think that the point is that Michigan politics have nothing to do with California politics.

What the **** is wrong with you that you hate McClintock supporters so much? You get good news, but all you can think of is hatred for McClintock. You have some serious (series?) emotional issues!
Bystanding Schwartzenegger supporters: This kind of vulgar trash is posted routinely by other Schwartzenegger supporters... Have I missed something? Has there been anything close to this kind of disgusting behavior by McClintock's supporters? Is this loser a DU plant, bacuase such childish hysteria seems more what we'd expect on DU.

Yes. Continuing to support a loser candidate like Tom Tom who siphons votes away from the Republican in the race is disgusting behavior.

And an accusation that I am a DUmmy. Your slide into the Dark Side is complete.

One thing that fascinated me... McClintock did very well among independents and Democrats. If Republicans would vote for him, he's beat Davis, but Republicans were *least* likely to vote for him. Odd, seeing how he is the only conservative. But one lesson I'd love for Pubbies to learn is that people really do like someone who stands for something.

Meek posted on live thread:
Can't get to the end to see if anyone posted this yet, but my daughter told me last night that when she was driving home from San Diego, someone had put up a huge bedsheet as a banner over the freeway that said ...
"Arnold may have groped 15,
but Davis has screwed us ALL!"
ROFLOL!

I dunno but there are 15 million NEW voters in this recall. Whaaa...? Where did you get this number?
There are 35 million people in California. 8 million voted in the last election. Seriously doubt we doubled that in NEW voters.

Chris Matthews (MSNBC) went out on a limb a couple of hours ago, and predicted that
Cruz Bustamante WILL be the winner in this election today.
Chris was very sure of himself.

If Buster steals this election, with Arnold leading by 10 points, the electronic voting-machine fix is in for 2004 and Bush had better be worried.
