If Arnold really has treated women as he is alleged to have, there is NO way we should be supporting him, under any circumstances.

Oh, baloney! You're talking about a few, mostly unsubstantiated, stories of butt-grabbing and pawing among the Hollywood crowd of groupies and druggies.

There is NO way this should even be an issue among reasonable adults. If he behaved this way while running for governor, then we've got a story.

Several weeks ago, Gray Davis had promised a big surprise in the final week of the campaign, and he delivered.

I'm still waiting for the surprise. We've known all about these stories - though minus a few patry details - for weeks/months.

It was always about getting "a Lewinski" and the cigar, and etc etc.

Speak for yourself. I would never have supported impeaching a guy 'cause he's a sleazeball. But I wholeheartedly supported impeaching that pathologically lying, justice-obstructing, dog-wagging, subsequently disbarred, corrupt rapist.

We have our answer..

"This doesn't end on Oct 7th if McClintock doesn't win, the "I Told You So's" just begin, and no "Conservative" will be safe."

Which do you think is worse -- lying about who you are and what your motives are in order unfairly affect the outcome of an election, or touching a starlets behind? Do you see cheating the American people of a fair election as being "clever"? Maybe thuggy and totalitarian would be better terms. Hitler used the same types of "clever" techniques. Read some history....

I give the Dems credit for being truly evil and slimey, but I also give them credit for being clever.

Fhayek, you get it. Are we dealing with a democrat operative here? Paulklenk is starting to look too cute by half. I wonder if he thinks the "Clinton war room" professional liars were "clever" rather than "criminal". If what they did was sooooooo "OK" why didn't they come forward and tell the world? Do people usually hide things they're proud of? Generally the hidden is shameful or criminal. NOT clever.

At the risk of insulting moral people, I submit that grabbing a woman's ass in Hollywood, in the 70's, by a twenty-five year old man is not in the same class as a man who uses state employees to procure women while he holds public office, who then proceeds to expose himself, and who quite probably committed rape.

Good luck making that stick.

You're gonna pasted! They are going to be laughing at you.

Pasted by whom? Define "they."

And if your "making that stick" reference is implying that I'm lying, I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, I suppose.

It's almost sad that the CA circus is ending this week (barring lawsuits). Whatever will I do for entertainment?

Well, there is the Cubs/Red Sox World Series to look forward to. And the subsequent reversal of the Earth's rotation. :-)

Uh, do you think that flies? Seriously, have you ever faced down a liberal and got into a knock down drag out fight?

I face liberals every single day. I also know what Bill Clinton did that made me support his impeachment. Both Arnold and Clinton may not meet your moral standards but only Clinton put himself above the law and abused public office. That you find them both to be morally bankrupt does not change the real differences.

If that were true, you would comprehend how this stuff is talked over and laughed at. I've seen it happen already. Its not going to be pretty.

When you do talk to liberals about this, know beforehand you are probably going to be mocked, it will help you to prepare exactly how you are going to hope to save face.

Trust me, I spend half my time with liberals from the academic world. They don't bother with this argument because I have never argued that it was Clinton's moral standards that made him unfit.

As far as I am concerned the Dems had all people of the right figured just like you. For many of us, however deplorable his behavior, the line wasn't crossed there. It became the business of the public when he lied under oath and all of the rest.

I thought we were dealing with reality here? I thought we were being pragmatic?

Perception is reality, and no amount of screaming, bitting your lip, and pointing your pen at your Profs saying "I did not care that he had sex with that woman." is going to change their opinion of your dithering arguement.

Welcome to the real world.

Friend, these aren't my profs. I don't deny your world where you are unable to respond without rolling up into an embarrassed ball. But this doesn't make it everyone's problem. I'm quite comfortable to laugh at any liberal who resorts to this argument. They said these things didn't matter, now they are going to tell me they matter to me? Bull, I know what mattered with Clinton.

I believe you should vote in accordance with your beliefs and whatever litmus test you have for candidates. If you do this, what's your problem, what double standards do you have to defend?

Deny my world? What does that mean?

Look, best of luck to you, you think people will take you seriously blasting Clinton on one hand after (R)nold, you try to do it. I hope you succeed in talking them down because Clinton was a horrible President. One of the worst ever.

There are alot of other things besides his lying about the sex to talk about, like the Chinese nukes, Vince Foster, the list goes on... I would suggest avoiding the first topic altogether now.

Deny my world? What does that mean?

I meant, I understand that for some even Clinton's behavior before the White House was obnoxious enough to make him unworthy for public office. And, in this case, I can understand that Arnold can't be judged with more leniency. In fact, I think that's perfectly understandable even as I believe the behavior of a body builder turned actor does not carry the same public responsibility as an elected official.

What I took issue with is the contention that all Republicans or conservatives who voted for Arnold were guilty of double standards. There is a clear difference in my mind and I don't have a single problem going face to face with the same people whose mantra was that Clinton's personal life didn't matter.

I respect your standards and the integrity with which you cast your vote. That I see this differently doesn't make me guilty of double standards. Peace to you.

No, I wouldn't say that for you, after all, neither of us hated Clinton simply because of the lewd behavior.

I'm just saying this isn't enough for us to make our case on this front any longer. Best to avoid that altogether and talk about North Korea or something.

My overall point, is that not being able to talk about Monica first is really sad, and I blame the RNC for this challenging position they allowed us to be put in.

A history lesson for the disruptor.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share this with all Freepers again.

Bill Clinton, as Governor of Arkansas, use State Troopers to snare potential love interests.

He tried it with Paula Jones, and dropped his pants to entice her. She refused, and that was that.

Years later, in a magazine article, someone recalled Clinton's slimy tactics for securing women. He shared the name Paula, and tied her to the role that Paula Jones had in the Governor's administration.

This incensed Paula Jones, and she sought clarification from President Clinton that she rebuked his advances.

Of course, the bimbo eruption team went after Paula, dragging her through the mud.

She sued, looking simply for an apology.

Clinton fought her, and the Jones lawyers went looking for other evidence of Clinton's use of women in his administration to bolster their sexual harassment case.

They found Monica, and many, many others.

In the interim, Clinton, not knowing of the link to Monica discovered by the Jones team, was busy suborning perjury from the likes of Linda Tripp, Monica and others.

He was called to testify, and perjured himself on the stand.

A scandal erupted, and he went before the America people and lied again. His associates assassinated the character of everyone involved, from Starr to Tripp and others, to avoid releasing the truth about his harassment of women.

The comparisons to Arnold are laughable, you ignorant scumbag.
