I think that the folks at webshots do NOT allow "remote third party linking" - hence the white box with the red "x" - BUT, you can force that image to show up when you read in this thread if you "cut and paste" the link below into your browser's address window, and go to that page on their website.

This will cause the image to download to a temporary file on your hard drive, and then you can return to this thread to see it here.

THIS is the link to that image, but you cannot CLICK on it, you must "cut and paste" it:

Thanks, TaxRelief, for reminding me. Yeah, it's true.
I guess we South Carolinians just don't like the Hildabeaste very much.

Thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/995929/posts?page=1

That would be THIS thread:

Hundreds save place in line to meet Clinton (Bookstore only sells 200 out of 500 tickets)
The State ^ | Today | T.D. MOBLEY-MARTINEZ
Posted on 10/06/2003 4:58 AM PDT by The Anti-Democrat

The mini-muffins, chocolate-chip cookies, bottles of water and a carafe of coffee still waited for takers Sunday afternoon, but the line outside The Happy Bookseller was long gone.

In a little more than an hour after doors opened at 1 p.m., about 200 people — mostly women in their 40s — coursed through the store, all to pick up Hillary Rodham Clinton’s new book, “Living History.” The $28 purchase also buys a numbered place in line for Clinton’s book-signing between 2:30 and 4 p.m. today.

It was fewer than the 500 store owner Andy Graves had estimated last week. "I was driving in today," Graves told a customer as he took her check, "and I had this great trepidation that there would be thousands of people waiting."

He laughed.

"Oh, I’m not disappointed," Graves said later. "It’s the kind of thing that’s good to have some play, especially with Yom Kippur and with the State Fair and all that’s going on."

The good news, he said, is that there will probably be tickets available today. Only 500 will be sold.

Maria Walker, a 46-year-old auditor with the state, called not long after 1 p.m. and found that they were already issuing ticket No. 75.

"I got dressed right away and came down," she said. "I thought there was going to be an after-church crowd..."

Hi, Ron!

Hundreds save place in line to meet Clinton (Bookstore only sells 200 out of 500 tickets)????

When we went to book signing for Barbara Olson, there was a huge party there waiting to meet her. Bill O'Reilly book signing drew a huge crowd. So did Jimmy Stewart and Rudy Guiliani - had to wait in a long long line to meet them. More people showed up for a book than there were books available.

But Hildabeast only draws 200. Now THAT tells me something~

Here's a quote from the newspaper article:
“There’s a devil across the street,” one man said to Clinton, gesturing toward the cutout of Bush.

“Yeah, he follows me around,” Clinton replied. “It must be a full- time job, I guess.”

This is amusing for a couple of reasons:

A general question which I was thinking about on the way home: Has anyone determined exactly who pays for these booksigning trips? I expect they are not cheap. I wonder if the expenses are deducted from the $8 mill the Hildabeaste got even before putting pen to paper hiring her ghost writers?

I went by the Peace Center in Greenville at a bout 8:00 pm, after a long time scheduled meeting, to see if there were any protesters. The Witch was inside the Peace Center at that time. I had learned 20 minutes before, that the location of her speech had been changed from Furman to the Peace Center.

Lots of creepy black suited goons eyeing me the whole time. Several kept talking into their radios. (Probably placing their last minute bets on the Kalifornia race)

The streets were deserted and lots of cars parked all around.

I saw no protesters or signs, nothing. I did hear some chanting from a group of people, but never found where it was coming from. Maybe they were demonstators in a designated area? I drove around the block twice and didn't see anyone. It was surprisingly dark in that part of Greenville. A lot of construction and few street lights.

I spotted a local policeman earlier and went back to ask him if there were any demonstrations, but he was gone by the time I got turned around. The goons were now really watching me now and I didn't feel like asking them.

With no other identifiable protesters around, I left the area.

Super FReep and great report!

In early August, 4 DC Chapter members FReeped her outside the DC Hilton and were about 10 to 15 feet from her, but the windows were tinted and we were not sure she was in the car. We held our position for about 5 to 10 minutes as my camcorder battery was dying in ready mode.

Then when I started to replace the battery, Hillary darted into the hotel from the opposite side of the car like a pant-suited thief in the night as we peacably and loudly expressed our disapproval.

That's at least twice in 3 months that she was unable to avoid seeing FReepers protesting her up close and personal.

After awhile three ladies that had been at the signing came across the street and engaged us in conversation. One of them said I was bringing shame to the state of South Carolina. I said, "How's that." She said, "Well, just look at your sign... it looks like something you'd get out of a dumpster."

It's OK to make fun of a poor person if you believe the poor person is a Republican/conservative.

Just goes to prove that they do not care about people, they just care about votes they can harvest from victim groups they alledge to help. As soon as a member of those victim groups don't vote the way they like, their interest in "helping" is zero.

And to keep the victims voting Democrat, the victims will be kept as victims.

Look for those with a pin in their lapels that's a law enforcement symbol, like US Marshal, US Secret Service and feel free to identify yourself as Free Republic. That he regular detail knows of the group, we're conservatives and don't engage in civil disobedience. Too tear gas, no heavy lifting (i.e., no arrests where the angry left wackos go limp as they're "frog marched" away).

Book wait ‘worth every minute’ (Barf Alert)
The State ^ | Today | SARAH SABALOS
Posted on 10/07/2003 3:41 AM PDT by The Anti-Democrat

Mary Vaughn has unusual plans for her signed copy of U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s “Living History.”

She’s going to wrap it in a waterproof bag and put it on her mother’s grave.

“My mother was my hero, and she loved and adored Hillary Clinton,” Vaughn said while waiting in line for Monday’s book signing at The Happy Bookseller. “She thought Hillary was Princess Diana and Eleanor Roosevelt rolled into one.”

Clinton signed more than 800 books Monday afternoon before heading to Furman University for a political forum.

Vaughn brought a five-page letter asking Clinton to be the spokesperson for bladder cancer, the disease that took her mother’s life.

Vaughn’s ticket numbers were 206 and 207, so she had something of a wait. As the line moved quickly forward, she agonized over what to say to the senator.

But she didn’t go to quite the lengths of the first five women in line, a group calling themselves The Fabulous Five.

“We slept in the parking lot,” said Frankie Singley Middleton, who bought the first of about 500 tickets available at 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning. “We had doughnuts and newspapers — it was a wonderful time.”

“This is better than a concert,” said her new parking-lot friend, Michelle Sprinkle.

At the end of the line — behind several hundred people of all colors, ages, and genders — was JoAnn Schmidt. She didn’t have a ticket, but hoped Clinton would sign a book for her anyway.

“I’m a big fan. I’ve loved her from Day One, followed her, had fights about her, lost friends,” Schmidt said.

Across the parking lot, a Republican group set up a voter-registration table. Behind it was a life-size cutout of President Bush.

A rock-star cheer erupted in line when Clinton arrived at 2:30 in one of several black, darkly tinted government vehicles.

About 20 minutes later, the senator sat down at the signing table inside the store. The line snaked around the back of the building along Forest Drive.“Hello, ma’am,” she said, extending her hand to one of The Happy Bookseller’s staff members. “Hillary Clinton. Nice to meet you.”

Clinton took a moment with each book holder to answer questions and receive compliments and hugs. After 10 minutes, she had the first of several lipstick prints on her cheeks.

“Are you on a fixed income?” she asked one woman who inquired about the state of Medicare.

She asked book buyers about their jobs and hometowns, fielding questions like, "Where’s Bill?"

"I left him at home," she laughed.

"There’s a devil across the street," one man said to Clinton, gesturing toward the cutout of Bush.

"Yeah, he follows me around," Clinton replied. "It must be a full-time job, I guess..."

No, we were standing on the sidewalk with a parking lot behind us. Her SUV pulled out from across the 4 lane street. They crossed all 4 lanes as they turned to our right and passed directly in front of us. I'd guess she was maybe 8-10 feet from us as she passed [shudder!].

Talk about 666!

Did you know that exactly 666 months (55 1/2 years)
after Hitler committed suicide in late April 1945 (and the beast was defeated)

...Hillary Rodham Clinton was elected to the Senate in early November 2000!

666 months later.

Talk about timing.

Has the spirit-of-the-beast risen again, from the ground (from the grave) to live again, as declared in Revelations?

Her power does seem to be growing
every day.

Thanks for the great report and pictures. I'm jealous I couldn't be there, but likely next time. Just shows that quality beats numbers any time! You guys got quality!

As for cost reimbursements, my guess is that the bookstores cover some and probably the state democrat organizations kick in too. Next book tour will likely be the sink meister himself. This should keep them in the news through the '04 election. Sheesh...what a pair. BTW I noticed on ebay, there's plenty of unread copies available. Those folks standing in lines and getting her signature are not necessarily admirers. The signed copies are going for $75 to $225 per copy on ebay! Almost makes me want one of those unsold tickets.....JUST KIDDING...JUST KIDDING!

Great job guys!

Almost forgot to add this. They stopped traffic at the end of her heinous holding court. One person didn't appreciate this honor and tried to do a u-turn from the bookstore side of the road. The busy street had a very thin median ( barely enough for one car ). Smash up. They pulled them over quickly as the accident would have been in the way of her royal carriage. Nobody was hurt. They still were putting the cars on tow trucks when I left.
