At our polling place they stole the sign that showed cars where to turn! Morons! The polling place didnt even know until we told them! They put up another one. Somebody sure wanted to confuse a few voters
. (the whole thing was ripped out of the ground and gone, conservative area I live in, Placerville/El Dorado County)

Bustamante remains as Lt. Gov. That's an elected position separate from the governor. Sometimes, the Lt. Gov. is not even the same party as the Governor.

Its going to be a landslide. I think Arnold will easily top 50% and get 51-52% and Tom McClintock will get 10%. Between them the two GOP candidates have 62% of the vote! The Democrats have NEVER had such a blowout in California, even during the year of Gray Davis' sweep in 1998. And this is the Left Coast! If the Democrats can't win here, its hard to see where they can win.

This is better news than exit polls showing the recall losing... but keep in mind that the entire exit polling system collapsed in 2002 because the numbers were so far from reality.
Cautiously optimistic..

A lot... and he has already been very busy. Remember, his "buddy" clinton is in town teaching him how to do it.

"39 days = time to certify the election"
Nah. More like 75 to 80 days. 39 days to certify election + 10 days to turn over governorship = 49 days. But before you get to that you have another 28-35 days that it will be tied up in court with legal challenges.
Bet that before it is over Ah-nuld has to find himself a friendly judge to swear him in as Governor, then has to use his authority as head of the California government to call out the National Guard to clear the old administration out of Sacramento.

I wonder if the state can do anything to prevent him from making things any worse before he leaves?

Boy, I hope Drudge is right on this one. It seems to me if these figures are real, then the Dems are going to have a hard time in mounting a legal challenge. But then the Dems are sue crazy so anything is possible.

remember this day. AS is going to surprise a lot of people in the next 20 years. He looks like a he has what it takes to be a warrior leader which is what the nation is going to need before the final chapter is written.
Once upon a time pundits thought it preposterous that some B actor who starred in chimp movies had any business in politics.
