This, rather, is the fasting that I wish:
releasing those bound unjustly,
untying the thongs of the yoke;
Setting free the oppressed,
breaking every yoke;
Sharing your bread with the hungry,
sheltering the oppressed and the homeless
Clothing the naked when you see them,
and not turning your back on your own.

You're welcome. I remember as a child being able to have cookies (or candy or whatever was given up for Lent) on Sundays.
Another note, technically, alcohol does not break a fast. It may not be in the spirit (get it?) of a penitential day, but it isn't considered a "food."
