Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Things like this make me appreciate the richness, beauty and sentiment of the catholic faith.

Thank you.

BTTT!

On Fridays most parishes have the Stations of the Cross. Plan to attend one in your neighborhood.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Salvation"Thank you again!!!!!!This is very very very good!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Closing Prayer

My Jesus, I have traveled Your Way of the cross. It seems so real and I feel so ashamed. I complain of my sufferings and find obedience to the Father's Will difficult.

My Mind bogged down by the poverty, sickness, starvation, greed and hatred in the world.

There are many innocent people who suffer so unjustly. There are those born with physical and mental defects. Do we understand that You continue to carry Your cross in the minds and bodies of each human being?

Help me to see the Father's Will in every incident of my daily life. This is what You did - you saw the Father's Will in Your persecutors, Your enemies and your pain.

You saw a beauty in the Cross and embraced it as a desired treasure.

My worldly mind is dulled by injustice and suffering and I lose sight of the glory that is to come. Help me to trust the Father and to realize that there is something great behind the most insignificant suffering.

There is Someone lifting my cross to fit my shoulders - there is Divine Wisdom in all the petty annoyances that irk my soul every day.

Teach me the lessons contained in my Cross, the wisdom of its necessity, the beauty of its variety and the fortitude that accompanies even the smallest cross. Mary, My Mother, obtain for me the grace to be Jesus to my neighbor and to see my neighbor in Jesus. Amen."

Thanks for posting this. I'm looking forward to walking through the stations this year. We recently completed and moved into our new parish building and the stations are sketches from scenes from The Passion. They were supposed to be paintings but the sketches were so beautiful that we decided to go with those instead.

You can view them all here. Click on "intro" to view each station.

I was very shocked and pleased tonight at the stations. The church was about 2/3 full! I have never seen that much participation. Of course there were the normal blue-hairs, but, thanks to God, there were a lot of families there, as well (that was the most surprising part to me)

I don't know for sure what to attribute this to, but I am very thankful. It makes me quite hopeful for the Church.

Noticed today how many more people went to 12:15 Mass. A fair number showed up for Stations.

Thanks for the bump!

Have borrowed the book translated and compiled by my pastor and am hand transcribing the Stations, according to the Antiochene-Syriac Maronite Church. Hope to post them later this evening or tomorrow. Please drop in and post a comment. Thanks.

Al, those sketches of The Stations are beautiful!

You might be interested in the new CDROM that has come out, called The Passion Explained

from Crux Fidelis. It contains the meditations (among many other things) from St. Alphonsus Liguori on The Stations of the Cross, and has over 200 images from "The Passion of The Christ"...many of those in which are depicted in the sketches at your Church.

I'm sure you'll enjoy, and find it a very prayerful compliment to your Lenten walk through The Stations. I highly recommend everyone getting it!

Plan to attend the Stations of the Cross at your church tonight. If you can't do that -- why not pray and meditate on them right here?

Resolution: I will pray the Stations of the Cross today as a way of contemplating and accompanying Christ in the mystery of his passion and death.
