I'm afraid that Elizabeth is not going to be able to attend Easter Mass. Her Crohn's disease is flaring up, and she is undergoing treatment for it, which will probably keep her in the hospital for a while longer.
She is in some pain, but handling it well. She can't have any more morphine, since it puts her digestive tract to sleep, and she needs to get it going.
Her spirits are still good. Her sisters visit her often, and she loves having time with them. Tonight they brought a movie to watch, and her Mom and I left the three of them to enjoy themselves.
Her Mom and I stay with her in shifts. She is very mature in many ways, but in some ways she is still a child, and she doesn't like to be alone without family. I have taken off work for almost three weeks, but I will have to go back next Monday, since our cash reserves are running low. I pray that she will not regress any while I am at work; she prefers my presence when she is scared.
Theresa is back home now. Rehabilitation was recommended, but she is a very stubborn woman, and insisted on coming home. My father-in-law is very proud and devoted to her, but I worry about his having to care for her. He is old, and has endured a heart attack and aneurysm surgery.
I don't know about the fate of Mike or Chris. The hospital is not allowed to discuss patients with strangers. I will continue to pray for them. Jose was discharged, and is expected to do well.
Thank you all for your prayers. I don't remember if I told you, but when Elizabeth was hemmoraghing, she bled for 12 hours while they pumped blood and other solutions into her. She stabilized right before the operation, and came through it so well that she didn't need the respirator after wards as predicted. I attribute that to your prayers.
