"The Most Beautiful Mass I've Ever Attended"
Mater Ecclesiae Roman Catholic Church ^ | 7/25/04 | Antoninus

Posted on 07/25/2004 11:39:57 AM PDT by Antoninus

This year on the feast of the Assumption (Sunday, August 15, 2004, 4:00 PM), the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden, New Jersey will be the site of a Solemn High Mass celebrated in the Traditional Roman Rite. This Mass is an annual event and is quite simply, the most beautiful Mass I have ever attended.

The Mass is sponsored by Mater Ecclesiae Roman Catholic Church, a parish of the diocese of Camden located in Berlin, New Jersey. Mater Ecclesiae is an indult parish which celebrates the Tridentine Mass.

If you are able, I encourage you to attend this Mass. It has become quite an event each year and if you love the beauty and solemnity of the traditional Catholic liturgy, this Mass will be an unforgettable experience. I have never felt so optimistic about the future of the Church as directly after this Mass. Here's a photo taken after last year's Assumption Mass:

You'll note the average age of the individuals in this photo. Compare this photo to the ones commonly posted on FR showing liturgical travesties of various sorts. This is exactly the sort of event we need to be supporting to the hilt.

Please attend this mass if you can. You won't regret it.

I have also heard that they're running a little behind in donations this year as an event of this sort can be quite expensive. See the following website for details:

Yeah, but he'll be back.

Although the sung traditional Latin Mass (Missa cantata) is something special, there's nothing to compare with the grandeur of the Solemn High Mass (particularly the Pontifical Solemn High Mass) in the traditional Roman rite. Thank God these heavenly Treasures live on in our modern-day liturgical wasteland! Thank God for the priests who courageously continue our Sacred Traditions - sometimes under censure from sodomites!

Thanks for the ping, and link to the Website. It's very nice.

Compare this picture to the pictures posted as of late with pagan and pan-theistic celebrations, and you will know the difference between a Catholicism that is sure of itself, and one that prefers being down on one's knees, seeking man's approval.

This Most Beautiful Mass represents the Church in which I made my First Holy Communion, in which I was confirmed, and this is the Church that I don't want to see perish.

I hope the Traditionalists heed God The Father's word, and become very fruitful and multiply.

Well, if the families that make up this parish are any indication, they are. There are tons of little traditionalists running around there, that's for sure.

FR moved a thread from the News to the Religion Forum. This has been a perpetual beef of Polycarp's. He was very upset and basically dared JR to ban him.

Weird, isn't it.

At the Tridentine Mass here in New Orleans, there's old and young and just the big hole where the one generation used to be.

Same thing here. To be fair, there are a few baby-boomers in the congregation at ME, but not nearly in proportion to their numbers in the general community. If their parents were the "greatest generation," they are most certainly the "lost generation."

One of these years I will attend. This year is interesting because the holy day of obligation falls on a Sunday. As one who is in the choir, it is wonderful to experience the music from the pews on occasion.

an event of this sort can be quite expensive.

The cost for professional musicians and singers adds up real fast. But, with a talented organist and choirmaster, the music helps to lift the hearts and minds of the congregation up to God.

There are a few of us baby boomers who have come to our senses.

I have noticed that often a religious post will show up in Breaking news. Is this being done just to test the system or something? :-)
