Arlin had sent me several FReepmails just a few weeks ago, talking about theology and developments in my Lutheran church body. I appreciated his correspondence. He was a well-informed, concerned churchman.

You have my Christian sympathy, dear lady, and we take comfort in the forgiveness of sins and the sure hope of the resurrection, which are ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.

I never had the honor to meet Arlin in person, but his gracious communications with me here on-line warmed my heart and strengthened my spirit. I thought of him as the epitome of the Christian gentleman, living as a faithful soldier of our great Commander, the Lord Jesus Christ.

May light perpetual shine upon him as he is gathered into the arms of the God he loved and knew.

Arlin was a faithful soldier of the Lord and defender of His Truth. His correspondence was encouraging to me and to all who fight this good fight.

He is now in that better place to intercede for us who are still in battle.

The golden evening brightens in the west,
Soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest;
Sweet is the call of paradise the blest,
Alleluia! Alleluia!

For all your saints who from their labors rest,
To you, by faith, before the world confessed,
Your name, O Jesus, be forever blessed,
Alleluia! Alleluia!

Mrs. Adams, my deepest condolences and prayers for you and all friends and family of ahadams2. I feel like I've lost a good friend and pray we will happily meet again one day. If there is a designated memorial, please let us know; I will also remember him at church tomorrow and will cherish his posts. I never knew of his deep pain, only his love for our Saviour and for the Christian Church and Faith.

I am so sorry. Your husband's thoughtful, informed, well written and timely posts were always of interest to me. He was one of the few Freepers, whose name I would bring up to learn what was going on in the world outside of my primary focus.

After I reading his comments,I could "impress" my acquaintances with a pretty good overview of what was happening in the Episcopal Church. I believe one defender of a Faith (Chritianity)very much in need of strong defenders,is gone making my world lonelier and more disturbing. I will miss him very much, what a good man he seemed to be. My thoughts and prayers are with you,may God hold you and your family close these coming days.

I am overwhelmed with how sad I feel and then think about your loss and can only imagine your grief. I do feel a little better to know that he was in great pain and that,at least,is no more.

Your husbands nature indicated a temperate sobriety in his posts from which I learned a great deal.

My thoughts and prayers for the family and Arlin's soul. Above all, I shall remember him at the Altar of the Lord. May Christ welcome Him into eternal glory!

Psalm 23

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name's sake.
4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup Runneth over.
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of
the Lord for ever.

God Bless
