Four Christians will stand trial for preaching the Gospel during and a “gay pride” event in Philadelphia. They could receive a sentence of up to 47 years in prison.

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia federal appeals court denied an emergency appeal to halt prosecution of 11 Christians. While charges were dropped against 7 of the participants, four of the Christians are facing trial where they could receive up to 47 years in prison.
On October 10, eleven Christians with Repent America were arrested during the annual “Outfest”, a gay pride event held in Philadelphia. The Christians were singing, praying, and reading passages from the Bible.
Efforts to block their prosecution were denied last week by U.S. District Judge Petrese B. Tucker. At a preliminary hearing on December 14, an emergency appeal to block the prosecutions was also denied.
Municipal Court Judge William Austin Meehan ruled that four of the Christians will face felony and misdemeanor charges, for preaching what the prosecutor Charles Ehrlich calls “hate speech” from the Bible. Charges against the other seven individuals were dropped because they were not seen participating in reading scripture.
Video footage of the incident shows that the Christians cooperated with the police, while a group called the Pink Angels, a gay pride group, continually harassed them to stop their preaching.
Brian Fahling, senior trial attorney for the American Family Association Center for Law & Policy and attorney for the Christians, says that the last option will be an appeal to the Supreme Court to stop the prosecution.
Said Fahling of the recent rulings, “First, symbols of Christianity are removed from the public square, now, Christians are facing years in prison because they preached the gospel in the public square. Stalin would be proud.”

I admit it. I never thought this would really happen. I'm shocked.
Kind of related. I was driving down route 9 in Wellesley Sunday (a posh, PC town in Massachusetts) and pro-life pickets had set up along the road. I've never seen one on route 9 --ever. There were about 8 people along one side of the road holding huge, 3' x 5' signs, including a photo of a dismembered baby. It was great. Fortunately they weren't charged with "hate speech," as far as I know.
I've been to the next world in a brief vision, would you like to hear about it?
First vision : sense that a higher being is behind me, pushing me forward : scene : farmyard, shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, etc just sitting there, as if everyone is gone. Suddenly everyone is back to work. I ask a young girl, where was everyone? New Jerusalem she said... Second vision : starts out as sort of a pollution movie(in the last REM-dream before waking up): big sewer pipe dumping into a stream bed, but its BLOOD pouring out. Dark red pit, human bodies being thrown at a blizzard rate into a pile of bodies/parts of bodies, some still alive scrambling around...houses with plastic sheeting over them, people huddling in FEAR inside. Grocery store(with auto-opening doors, big windows): invisible force like maybe a HUGE eagle SMASHES through the windows, RIPS people to shreds with invisible claws and into the pit they go. Satan on TV(born in a sheet metal shed like Jean Dixon said)...terrifying vision...it even ran on AFTER I had woken up...took 2 cups of coffee to make it quit. That was 1977 or so, since then, as a scientist, I've figured out how the 3 1/2 years of darkness happens(clue-ozone hole and solar UVB)and the Richter 15 earthquake(clue-magnetic field and Jesus' statement of the lightning flashing from the east even unto the west). Yes, provide more details. I heard that scientists have found a major earthquake fault running through Jerusalem. I haven't yet studied Revelation - only skimmed parts of it.
Yes, Hal Lindsay in his book : The Late Great Earth also mentions an old earthquake fault running under the temple mount in Jerusalem, part of the rift/fault line between the plates running from the afar triangle in africa and up into asia minor. I wouldn't put it past the israelis to "help" that fault along a bit with maybe a bit of water-grease(to get rid of the Dome of the Rock, so they can build the 3rd temple). The dead sea results from that faulting/slip. There is also an artesian spring that supplies most of the fresh water for Damascus that results from water-rich rock(granite)being squeezed by those same tectonic forces deep underground. Then there's the "zipper" effect of earthquakes that move along a fault line. It is thought that the zipper effect was responsible for the fall of Jerico's walls as the stress was relieved in a series along the north-south fault line in biblical times(not Joshua's trumpets). Currently another "zipper" is being un-zipped(east to west)in turkey, and the next ZIP will be just off the coast of istanbul within the next few years(SELL all real estate investments there, NOW). Ok, the ozone hole and 3 1/2 years of darkness, mentioned in the old testament as well as Revelation : somehow the ozone layer over the NORTH pole collapses(well below 300 dobson units-ie, 300 parts/billion of O3). As you may know, ozone is our natural "sunscreen". UVA is the longer waves just above violet=our normal suntan rays. UVB is shorter wavelengths and would give us far more sunBURN but O3 blocks most of UVB. UVC rays are essentially soft X-rays=deeply penetrating and quickly fatal with, say, 3-4 hours exposure. O3 blocks virtually all of UVC. So, if O3 layer collapses UVB and UVC will sunBURN trees/grass/even the photoplankton layer in the ocean=1/3 of all green growies in the northern hemisphere BURN UP via solar radiation. Then forest fires explode everywhere(look at how much forested land is north of 45 deg N latitude). At first the smoke/gas/micron sized soot roars southeastward but then hits the SAM wall(Spin Angular Momentum)at 30 deg N lat where the stronger easterlies(trade winds)slam into the westerlies(of the central hadley cell)(this is why hurricanes swing northward at about 30 deg n lat.)and thus are shoved upward to the tropopause and back toward the north. Then, because of the coriolis effect(earth is spinning, remember?)this HUGE cloud is rightward deflected and into a hurricane-like eyewall of soot/gas/dust swirling around the pole at the arctic circle where the tropopause(boundary layer between lower troposphere and upper stratosphere)is only 5 miles up. That means countless mega-tons of micron-fine soot is injected directly into the stratosphere where the winds are LAMINAR. From nuclear winter studies(strategic nuclear war aftermath)it is well known that it takes just 3 1/2 years for that soot to s l o w l y settle out of the stratosphere. This is in fact the main reason why the USSR is no more : they DIE too with an all-out nuc exchange. Then you can calc the die-off rate of 7 billion people...Ok, tomorrow, Richter 15+/-...
Ok then, we try to decipher Jesus saying the lightning flashes from the east even unto the west : what does that mean? First note that he's talking about HORIZONTAL, not vertical, lightning. Now, what could make horizontal, latitudinal lightning all over the earth? AHA : Lenz's law, the electrical version of action-reaction. This is how electricity is actually generated(Maxwell's +dE/dt term in his 4th equation). And in an electrical distribution system you have lots of magnetic energy built up in lots of motor coils, sort of like springs that are compressed. When the whole system shuts down you get a brief reverse current surge, called back EMF, and that is all those motor coils releasing that pent up energy in those magnetic "springs". Ok so far? Now, 2 UFO "coils" or rings containing vast amounts of magnetic spin energy land at the north and south poles and flux-dump through the CORE, both inner and outer. 2 possibilities : spin up or spin down(faster or slower earth-spin). This intense dipole magnetic field(in the TESLAs range)thus "grabs" the core and spins it eastward or westward(think of stretching rubber bands). In spin-down the magnetic field is spinning westward(retrograde)but the earth continues to spin eastward, thus a Lenz Law generated current(lightning flashing from the east even unto the west). As the earth spin slows down by 10% Spin Angular Momentum(hint : a bath is a tenth part of a cor, in Ezekial)it CHANGES SHAPE. The equator is 12 miles above a perfect sphere because of earth-spin. Now can you figure out from there how a richter 15 earthquake occurs, and the entire surface gets covered with LAVA?
Thanks for your though-provoking reponses. I don't know the answer to the richer 15 earthquake, however, I will think about it. If you know of other science related info pertaining to revelation, or relating to Israel, the Bible, etc., I would appreciate it. You don't have to spend a great deal of time for this, just tidbits. Ok, the richter scale goes up by about 250 times per unit(like the BEL scale as in decibels goes up by an exponent of 10), so the recent aceh undersea earthquake had a magnitude of 9.0. A 15.0 earthquake would be 250x250x250x250x250x250 times greater in total magnitude of energy release, or about 10% of the earth's spin angular momentum. I have the ability to directly communicate with HIM(pray and point my finger to the answer in the bible). His response to this question : a minor phrase in Ezekial : a bath is a tenth part of a cor. Translated : a(lava)bath(covering the whole earth)is a tenth part(of the total SAM of the earth)of(as to)the cor(e). Jesus refers to the counter EMF(back EMF from Lenz's Law)as(latitudinal)lightning flashing from the east even unto the west(from the magnetic "hit" as described above). Now, would you like to know how our JESUS was actually raised from the dead? It actually started back on mount Tabor, the Transfiguration; it was a CAT SCAN. To wit, his body is going to undergo a tremendous amount of damage in the crucifiction, yes? So, when you repair all that cellular damage, what is your record to repair it(the body)back TO? Thus the earlier CAT SCAN on Mt Tabor. Got it? Then, he was crucified on THURSDAY, not friday. Remember? THREE days and THREE nights in the grave = part of thurs, + fri, sat; and T/F/S nights. Thus about 30 hours DEAD(physically). The shroud of Turin tells the rest of the story : Sunday AM : a su-co ring(rectangular loop)is placed around his body(10^27 fermions)and the volume is slam frozen to 0 deg K. Now, the first law of thermodynamics says that energy can never be created or destroyed, only transferred; thus his body is at about 300 deg K in the tomb(room temp if you will). The HEAT in his body thus has to GO somewhere. Since 1/2 of the fermions are spin-down and 1/2 spin-up, as to the x-y plane of the loop, gamma rays are emitted 1/2 up and 1/2 down(+z/-z vector directions), producing the scorch-image/negative picture on the shroud. The microscopist on Jackson's team(at a lecture at our church)said that the(surface only)scorch was equivalent to a brief, intense gamma ray burst at 1 meter. Now of course satanists will say the shroud is a fake(they only tested the PATCH in the atomic carbon dating test which was sewn on after the church fire in the 1500's). Anyway, he tells Mary Magdelene not to touch him as she might have gotten a cryogenic burn or interferred with the CAT SCAN healing process, got it? Anyway, I could tell you how he does the "magic" tricks of floating in the air, walking on water, healing, disappearing right in front of his disciples, etc; but we'll leave that for later. Point here is : Arthur Clarke's third law : a sufficiently advanced technology will seem like MAGIC to a less advanced technology. But know this : someone up there LOVES us even as the smelly, gross MONKEYS that we are("apes with guns" as aliens refer to us). The nicest things in re to the crucifiction and resurrection, to me, is the truly heartfelt prayer of Jesus to his friends at the end of the last supper, it really HURT him to be parting with them; and the "neat-nic" who folded up the shroud...why?
