Prayer from Good Friday Service of Tenebrae:
Save us this night from any hardness of heart,
that seeing Him who died for us,
we may repent, confess our sins, and receive overflowing love.
We pray for all who suffer;
for the hungry and the homeless,
for the destitute and oppressed,
for all who suffer persecution, doubt and despair,
for the sorrowful and bereaved,
for prisoners and captives, and
for all in grave danger.
Eternal God of unchanging power and light,
look with mercy upon the world.
Bring to consummation your saving work.
May all behold the depth of your love,
may the fallen be lifted up,
may the old be made new,
and may all things be brought to perfection by Him through whom all things were made. Amen.
