I misunderstood your meaning, I am sorry if I stepped on any toes. Thank you for clarifying.

I think you're one of those dreaded "modernizers"! :) Actually, I like the raven too!

Don't worry about it.

"but I like how the raven is holding the thorn bush, which points to the story of St. Benedict rolling in thorn bushes when he experienced a temptation of the flesh. "

IIRC the raven either brought bread to St. Benedict while in the desert or saved him from eating poisoned bread..Also the mascot of the Benedictine College Ravens (Atchison, KS) the only Catholic college or university in the Midwest to comply with the Pope's Mandatum for the teaching of orthodox theology..GO RAVENS!!

I'm taking your advise, re: my computer, so thanks for it.

FYI, it doesn't crash it just doesn't allow me to fully perform searches. When I try to Google, it attempts to locate the site, does, and then I get a dialogue box, illustrating a transfer of info from a folder, telling me it can't connect to site.

New computer place opened up very near where I work, so I'm going to check housecleaning options w/them.

BTW, how's your new baby? Happy, healthy and growing like a weed, I hope.

Yes, she's very well, thank you. Looks more like her oldest sister every day.

What web browser are you using? If that were MS IE, I would suspect that a setting is wrong somewhere.

It is IE, but I called tech support when this first happened and the things they asked me to check seemed ok. But, who knows? I don't know what I'm doing, as you can plainly see.

My computer is a '99 off-off brand, that's worked fine until fairly recently, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I'm really hankering for a new one though, so if you don't mind could I ask you one last question? Is a MAC a bad idea? I like messing around with graphics, but other than that I mainly use my computer for very simple tasks and the internet.

On a final note, you mentioned your youngest is beginning to look like her older sister? When I was 20 years old I lost a brother. He was 7, school bus dropped him off, and then hit and killed him. He was killed very close to where we lived, and the only reason I'm mentioning the incident is that he was the baby, I'm the 2nd and he looked exacly like me. When I look at his picture now, I find comfort in that physical bond. Maybe that's shallow, nonetheless it's true.

"Is a MAC a bad idea?"

Pandora, please pick up the white courtesy phone. Somebody has opened your box again.

There's passion on both sides of that question, fer sure.

Windows machines are generally cheaper, and there's lots more and lots cheaper software for them.

That said, I expect a Mac true-believer or ten to weigh in with their arguments, which are not without merit.

"Maybe that's shallow"

Of course it's not.
