Are you referring to the belief in the Church Fathers? Why that appears right after the discourse on the Trinity, the instructions on relying solely on Sola Scriptura and the listing of the books in the canon with a mention to throw out Maccabees.

Kind of a different thing, but not totally. A couple of weeks ago I made a very innocent comment that I didn't like to pray for money. I made this comment to a Protestant co-worker, she immediately quoted a verse from the old Testatament which admonishes the believer to 'come boldly before the Lord.' She finished by adding that my thoughts were a kind of false humility. I pretty much agreed to disagree, and thought that was the end of it.

I did speak to a Priest about it, and he said that my instincts were basicially right and that it wasn't a false humility. He did go on to say that if one were destitute or in real need then praying for money would be more understandble. He, of course, quoted the Scripture where Christ admonishes us not to take heed about our food or clothing, and uses the sparrow in his illustration of God's infinite capacity to provide.

As I said, I thought this was all settled, but today I was approached by one of the other Protestant females in the discussion, who handed me a book called "Your God is too small." I had to repress a tirade that was going to begin by telling her that she was even more ignorant of Church history than I am, and that that was really saying something. To tell her that she should get down on her knees and say a prayer of thanks to the Lord for St. Jerome. And then to tell her, try as she might, she cannot refute Apostolic Succession, and if that didn't mean anything to her, that was fine by me, but it sure did mean a lot to me.

I told her that I wasn't opposed to her praying for money, but that I didn't like to approach my Lord in that manner. She still didn't get it. I asked her does the Bible tell me that if I don't pray for money I'm doing something wrong? She said no, and then went on to comment on my approach to God needing to be Biblically based.

We parted with her telling me to read the book with an open mind. I don't dislike this woman, although she annoyed me today, but I try to stay away from her because it's no good speaking Greek to an Englishman.

Easy, you make up a doctrine that says "Bible Only" and simply exclude everything else as unusable.

Greek maybe, Albanian not a chance. Albaninas are not Illyrians. There is absolutely no record of the people, their art, litertaure and architecture in those days; they are non-existent. There is no solid historical evidence to show that present-day Albanians are related to Illyrians. They have no history. The three greatest personalities of theirs (by their own account) are: Mother Theresa (born in FYROM), Enver Hioxa (who made Albania the only officially atheist country), and King Zog (installed by Fascist Italians). All of them are 20th century personalities. Try finind something "Albanian" that is 200 years old (other than the blood fued) -- good luck.
