Perhaps we should follow his example and leave the "glory" for heaven also.

But the resurrected, ascended Christ is with us, all around us, whenever two or more are gathered in His Name, His Glory is with us. You might have some hangup about celebrating that, I do not.

Remember, there are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who get Boolean and those who don't.

That joke gets me every time.

"Now you must be pulling out legs. You are refuting the idea now that God wants the best from us?"

You are making my point! What God views as the best from us may look like nothing to those around us. Do you remember the widow's mite? Jesus thought that was beautiful - because it was the best she had!!!!

You too narrowly define beauty - you define it like the world, gold, marble, sculpture - these are not the things which God finds beautiful. He finds beauty in the heart that is fully His. We look at the outer appearance of things, He looks on the heart.

Luke 4

"And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him,

"To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will."

I agree about the inquisitions. Overblown by the secular mandarins and in need of revision.

But really now you must do something about Roman Catholic liberation theology...you know the kind that embraces Marxism? Like the Maryknolls and Paulists and the lunatic Roy Bourgeois who protests anything the US military does but ignores the Muslims and Marxists.

While you are at it - get rid of the homos. Just expel them. Why is that so hard to do? It will only get harder as time goes on.

the destruction of the Buddas by the Talaban pales in comparison to the destruction of Henry VIII

The vandalism that the Reformation was to the Christian heritage of England is truly tragic.

Vast quantities of Medieval Wall Painting have been lost forever, of course, but there is nevertheless more left on English church walls than is generally realised; paintings continue to be uncovered and more still are known to exist under layers of plaster

Catholics also have a set of enemies to make us look very good. Thank you, Jesus!

You have a point. But the issue is art, not beauty. And art is about Truth. Beauty is secondary to that.

Exactly! It was her best. She didn't shrug her shoulders and pretend God didn't know what was good or bad. She gave her best.

Now, do you wear nice clothes to church or do you wear smelly old work clothes? Do you shave and comb your hair? Do you put your best forward?

"Catholics also have a set of enemies..."

Galatians 4:16
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

"Exactly! It was her best."

It was her best - but it was not something the world would find beautiful.

Since you aren't telling us the truth, perhaps you're a representative of the other enemy?

1 Peter 5:8

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

You think Paul was speaking of you in that passage? Your screenname should be PretentiusMaximus.
