Folks, as you probably know already, Our Lady was defiled, the Pope insulted, and Catholics gratuitously and grievously offended in last weeks garbage show, South Park. Well, since "satire" cuts both ways, here's mine.
- Read the statement on this outrage by the Catholic League's for Religious and Civil Rights, Bill Donohue, and take action!
If you don't like it, don't watch it. A bunch of cartoon kids talking about the Virgin Mary is threatening to you? That's childish. Expecting cartoons to show respect to a religious figure is, uh, kinda creepy.
The libs are the ones who stifle free speech. THIS conservative will have no part in it.
I say we kill Kenny!
They're an equal-opportunity offender.
nobody is off limits, regardless of one's slant in life.
The funny part is that the things written into the speech balloons are exactly the sort of things one might expect them to say.
Neither will this one.
Blogger really needs to get a life and a sense of humor.
Cartoons are just drawings on paper; the men and women behind them are not above criticism. There are human beings behind cartoons with an agenda which needs to be exposed and criticized.
The same freedom of speech behind which these miscreants hide themselves protects the freedom to state my own opinion, and my own outrage.
I'll draw the line in the culture war wherever I please. After all, is my Mother they're talking about. Did you expect me to remain idle and just "let it go"?
Thank you for your feedback, but it doesn't dissuade me from speaking my mindm expressing my outrage, and calling for action.

Kenny doesn't speak that clearly, and Catholics should get offended about real things, not silly cartoons.
CATHOLIC PING!
Isn't there another religion that says they are abouve satire? Seems we had some spot of bother with them awhile back...
Seriously, if you don't like it, don't watch. I have a modern TV. One knobs turns the thing OFF and one changes the channel. You may think about that upgrade.
Whoever said they weren't above criticism?
"The same freedom of speech behind which these miscreants hide themselves protects the freedom to state my own opinion, and my own outrage."
Can we please retire that posting-board old saw? Who said you couldn't state your opinion? I defy you to cut and paste where I or anyone else said you couldn't. Taking the victim pose because you posted an opinion on a public board and someone dared post one in turn is really, REALLY lame.
"I'll draw the line in the culture war wherever I please. After all, is my Mother they're talking about. Did you expect me to remain idle and just "let it go"?"
Take a pill. No one cares where you or anyone else draw the line, or care what you let go or don't let go of. No one. You posted an opinion--if all you wanted was ego-boosting congratualtions, you should have sent it to your friends.
"Thank you for your feedback, but it doesn't dissuade me from speaking my mindm expressing my outrage, and calling for action. "
That's nice, but what did you read that was meant to dissuade you from expressing ANYthing? You posted an opinion, and got one back. Instead of debating the issue, you took the "I will not be silenced by you!" pose, when NO ONE tried to silence you--expressing a contrary opinion and pointing out that attempting to silence free speech on a conservative site is NOT about YOU. I don't care about you expressing yourself anymore than you care about me doing so; that's just a straw man.
The issue isn't whether someone has the right to express an opinion through a cartoon or a posting on a message board. At least, it shouldn't be. You don't like South Park? Fine, complain about them all you want. But stop with the "I will endure your slings and arrows" crap.
Let's get to the real point: What "action" do you want to take? What result do you want to get from that action--a bunch of cartoons that can criticize everyone and everything except what YOU like? Why should the South Park people not express their own opinions? YOU have that freedom--don't they?
Knock off the drama--stick to the important issue. What are you trying to do? What do you hope to achieve? -Theo
Incisive comment...mebbe he should write for the show, eh?
Yes. I believe the South Park crew had a go at them in "Osama bin Laden is a Farty Pants" (the original working title of which was "Osama bin Laden has a tiny penis. I'm seriously).
Yawn. If you aren't prepared to be offended, don't watch South Park.
You b@stard!
And you gotta love Butters!!!! He's so sweet. He's really a good little boy. "Please mom and dad. I'm sorry I was bad. Please don't sell me to Paris Hilton for 250 million dollars! That was a really funny episode. Paris Hilton opens a boutique in South Park called Stupid Spoiled Whore. I swear I never laughed so hard in my life.
Anyway, all the kids go to church. And at the end of each episode there's a moral and it's usually pretty good too.
