Wow 60! That is wonderful!
I asked Father if it is a upswing trend for all those returning or converting or am I just noticing because our household is active again.
He did not give a definite answer at the moment.
I Pray it is a positive change for the good.
I know CNN gets its share of flak but the coverage on the end of Pope John Paul II life and then the choosing of the new Holy Father was wonderful that CNN did live coverage and explained things.
I have read that there is a HUGE influx into the Catholic Church from the Protestant churches and from seekers as well.
In our parish we had 30 people coming into Full Communion. Of that, 11 were baptized.
I was stunned at how many orthodox Catholic commentators they put on the air. Something was going on, even Father McBrien from Notre Dame stuck to the actual teachings of the Church. They would have been better served to do the CSPAN thing with the funeral, the commentators could barely keep their mouths shut for more than ten seconds at a time. I watched the funeral on CSPAN.
I watched the show they put on this year recalling last year's events this Saturday afternoon. It was also surprisingly respectful. I think that's what was so surprising last year, they showed a modicum of respect, no sneering "on the other hand" commentary.
