You must be referring to Cardinal Law. And his reward for all his efforts? A cushy job at the Vatican.

Uh, no. He does not have a job at the Vatican. Just because he is in Rome doesn't translate "cushy Vatican job."

"You must be referring to Cardinal Law. And his reward for all his efforts? A cushy job at the Vatican."

If you're anti-Catholic you can make any ridiculous statement you want to, I guess. Cardinal Law was regarded as the most powerful, most influential Cardinal in America, and probably in the world. He was considered "papabilia", (a highly regarded candidate for the Pope's job), before the scandal which he and the lawyers for the victims tried to conceal by using payouts as a 'solution' to the problem and not reporting it to the police. Today? He is a nobody who is in charge of a small parish Church somewhere in Italy, a job that could have been given to a young priest just out of seminary. To put that in context, it's like going from Governor of New York to operating a rural post office with 3 employees in a town of 900 people.

Cardinal Law's "cushy job" means he now lives out his life in disgrace. Had his decision making on the scandal been different, he'd possibly be Pope right now. He clearly understands that his decision to try to keep the scandal under wraps has caused the biggest trouble for the Church in centuries, and he must wear that knowledge around his neck like a millstone. At the same time, to his credit, he admitted that he was utterly wrong, and begged forgiveness from everyone affected, namely, the whole Church. Thank God the Church's mission is to forgive the repentent and not crucify them, as many pseudo 'Christians' would have it.

Your free to throw out the anti-Catholic BS.

Cardinal Law should be in prison. Aiding child molesters. Its as simple as that.

I don't recall an army of Palatine Guards in bright red, green and yellow striped pantaloons holding spears and surrounding him and trying to prevent his arrest and prosecution. Either it wasn't really "as simple as that" or you should take it up with the Boston Police and the Massachusetts Attorney General. Ignorance, prejudice and bigotry knows no bounds, no matter what the century.

Rue belongs to a renegade movement that is ordaining women as Catholic priests, in defiance of the Vatican. Today, Rue celebrates Mass at the non-denominational chapel ...

Catholic yet non-denominational?

Lady's, if you insist on this silliness, call it what you want. But, don't call it Catholic.

Can we get these dingbats on copyright infringement?

Unfortunately ... no! Once ex-communicated, these women are often picked up by the Old Catholic Church, which broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in 1870. The word 'catholic' appears in several churches. It means 'universal'.

In November 2001, an excommunicated woman in Rochester NY, Mary Ramerman was ordained a 'catholic' priest by a bishop of the Old Catholic Church in California, until recently a schismatic Catholic group dating from 18th-century Holland, but today also heretical in addition to being schismatic.

Oh, I may have to go to confession after saying this, but that picture is begging for a zot.

So are you denying that he helped those child molesters find new victims? Helping them find a new parish after they were found to have molested kids in the old one. Again and again.
The only reason Cardinal Law wasn't charged is because he was the Cardinal. He got an undeserved break.
Imagine a daycare center moving their employees from center to center after they were found out to have molested kids. You don't think that the person who did that would have been arrested?
You're right. Ignorance abounds, no matter the century.

I know that nuns, and maybe even priests sometimes put on a ring like that when they are ordained to symbolize their "marrying" the church and remaining chaste... not sure about this former nun of course

I guess that means that God called satanists to be priests too...They have held their masses long before these women did.
