Apparently, they did not have a geologist on their expedition to define the surface of the earth.

..., and how do you "date" DNA? ...

You start by finding 29 dimensions of similarity.

John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Bereshith bara elohim et hashamayim v'et haaretz.

There it is. In the beginning was the word that is G-d: Elohim. And His word was from the beginning. His word is truth so whatever He says happens. No need to make a god out of a man. That's idolatry. Worshiping that which was created vs. the Creator.

This is about the tenth one found in my lifetime.

Several different suppositions have been made about a partially visible something that looks to be the approximate right size and shape on a portion of the Ararat Range in Turkey. No one actually found it on the ground. That one was from a WWII era aerial photo and subsequent satellite shots of less resolution than is apparently now possible.

Attorneys! LOL! Why would you bring attorneys along? So they could sue you if anything goes wrong? Maybe if they were all struck dead THAT would be considered proof of a divine presence. Attorneys?! LOL!

Wonder how many animals became extinct at that time? Wouldn't this event upset evolution?

If they found this "thing" intact as they say, there should be both human and animal evidence onboard.

I checked the synopsis via wickipaedia, and it looks interesting.

It's just a hunch, but I think there's plenty underneath the deserts and the ice. Then there are my experiences. If a gun was put to my head, I would proclaim that the world is fake.

Sometimes I blurt these things out, but because a good deal of FReepers are faint of heart, and are founded by strict belief systems, I'm reluctant to post some things sometimes. I like it here, and I'm not looking for grief.

The Genesis account of Noah's Flood fails to mention that Noah made a pit stop in Australia to drop off the kangaroo, platypus, koala, etc., then paddled over to North America to drop off the bison and the rattlesnakes, and swung down to Antarctica to let off a few penguins before heading over to Ararat to disembark.

It's just a few missing verses. No biggie.

Gen 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

Strictly speaking, the Hebrew reads "rrt", not "Ararat"; the vowels are left out. (IIRC, vowel points in Hebrew didn't appear until Roman times.) "RRT" could mean "Urartu" as easily as "Ararat". The Urartu people lived in the area before the Armenians pushed them out. Making matters worse, the Hebrew word translated as "mountains" could mean hills or foothills. Thus "the mountains of rrt" could mean any hills or mountains in the old Urartu lands.

I want to know how long it takes wood to petrify.

One glance from Helen Thomas is enough to make any wood
disappear completely.

Yeah, I just saw it. It was an interesting rock formation - I would like someone to tell me it's petrified wood. But still, I think this is all about selling books.

Hope they prove me wrong ...
