That kinda reminds me of my Uncle Highpockets plan to make money by selling bicycles to ostriches.

It was almost foolproof.

Try to avoid the sunlight.

I've become a PNW mossback. Such an action is now instinctive reflex. (Only a month or so more and evil Yellow Face will quickly recede...)

The company's reserved a private suite. Don't know what that means, but I hope it includes shade. After all, that retractible roof is there to keep out the sun, not the drizzle, right?

I think it's safe to assume they've got you covered.

If you were in Japan the second step would be to buy a vending machine.

Interestingly enough, or maybe not.. you decide, L. Neil Smith had snakes on bicycles in his novel The Forge of the Elders. Ok, so they weren't snakes, they were semi-sentient tentacles from a larger creature, and they weren't bicycles but rather unicycles...

Er...

Where was I going again???

Good point. It was amazing the things you could get for a couple hundred Yen on just about any metro street corner.

Word of advise though, never drin a can/mini-keg of Kirin that is bigger than your head.

I know that I'm missing a lot by not reading him, but I prefer to forge my own way through the Galaxy.

Likely, I'll be accused of cribbing somebody's notes anyway.

Uncle Highpockets thought that the major challenge was in teaching the ostriches to ride the bicycles. He failed to consider the fact that the major challenge in any economic enterprise is making sure you get paid.

Of course, that is what led to his next adventure, but that's another story.

I miss the vending machines. Truck stops are the only places in the US I have found anything that even comes close to offering the variety of items found there.

There are times when I've been tempted to put pen to paper...

Then I realize that there are exaclty three people out of the almost 6 billion on this planet that might be interested in what this one particular monkey bangs out on his typewriter.

Not a recipe for economic success there either.

I avoid truck stops for hygenic reasons.

Ok, that and I just don't do a lot of cross country travel. ;-)

Well, ostrich eggs can be considered a unit of exchange, but then he had to find a way to unload them ...

Life for Uncle Highpockets was always a bit complicated.

I think you should write the story of how Ana conquered the world.

She will enjoy that. So would a lot of folks.

And give away her evil plans? I think not. Remember what happened to Admiral Piet after "apologizing" to Lord Vader? Like that, except a lot cuter and with sticky fingers.
