Mohammed in the "Gospel" of Barnabas - ZOT for the Theologians

Posted on 07/17/2006 9:05:28 AM PDT by parakletos

The GREAT PROPHET MOHAMMED was mentioned by name in the forgotten gospel of Barnabas, who was one of the disciples of THE GREAT PROPHET JESUS CHRIST.

The gospel is here: www.barnabas.net/

in the aforementioned site, make a search for the word "mohammed".

heres a sample: from part 97

Then said the priest: `How shall the Messiah be called, and what sign shall reveal his coming?'

Jesus answered: `The name of the Messiah is admirable, for God himself gave him the name when he had created his soul, and placed it in a celestial splendour. God said: "Wait Mohammed; for thy sake I will to create paradise, the world, and a great multitude of creatures, whereof I make thee a present, insomuch that whoso bless thee shall be blessed, and whoso shall curse thee shall be accursed. When I shall send thee into the world I shall send thee as my messenger of salvation, and thy word shall be true, insomuch that heaven and earth shall fail, but thy faith shall never fail." Mohammed is his blessed name.'

Then the crowd lifted up their voices, saying: `O God, send us thy messenger: O Mohammed, come quickly for the salvation of the world!'

what do you think?

Good Night, Harmless. Sleep well, but not overly long.

Tension seems to be rising everywhere.

Remember, if you can keep your head while others about you are losing theirs, you probably don't know the full situation.

Also the mod has teeth.

Lord, we thank you for the most sharp teeth of thine own Religion Moderator. Let us be ever defended by those same teeth, and lettest us now and ever in the time to come never to be found wanting and subject to the terror of those terrible teeth, but that when we arrive at the end of days we shalt receive Thy almighty grace unchewed.

Amen.

Wow. STS 114 photos.

Kinda boggles the mind about what we did off that little atol when the Castle lifted off.

I wonder if we started a new religion in the area?

If memory serves, it was dawn local time. We tried to be ... inconspicuous ...

Miles distant, on the open ocean, ferries, launches, barges and work vessels are keeping vigil. There is an unnatural silence. Even the noisy gulls seem to have sensed some kind of danger and are patrolling elsewhere.

There is only a slight chop in the ocean, where large swells were migrating just days ago. The sky is clear, but not entirely cloudless. It could be a beautiful West Pacific day, but everyone is securely shut up behind thick barriers as if expecting an assault.

And then the assault comes. With unbridled fury, six hundred demon voices scream like outraged volcanic vents as gases heated to incandescence erupt from their maniacal throats.

On the horizon, the flash is visible long before the noise arrives, causing people to wonder if something has gone terribly wrong. Then the fire rises, like Poseidon’s wrath, out of a molten sea.

Steam clouds circle and roil in its wake as it rises, and the thunder shakes the air. Such fury cannot be contained, or constrained, and yet it rises, climbing like a demented soul out of the depths of Hell.

Atomic fury, ill contained. A genie, shaken into a terrible rage, with his bottle upended, blasts out of the opening at hypersonic velocity. Hundreds and hundreds of times repeated. It is indescribable.

The immovable object of three linked massive habitats is balanced on an inverted volcanic plume gone into full afterburner. The watery surface, the Pacific Ocean, and planet Earth itself are rejected, pushed aside, shoved away like a spurned suitor as the violence continues.

It rises. Impossibly, it rises.

Yep. Something like that.

They that Native Islanders now claim was the "Day the Gods roared". They have been VERY nice to each other ever since having taken said "roar" as a warning.

A lovely summer day here in the Pacific Northwet. 58F, soft grey skies and a light drizzle. Ahhhhhhh...

Going to make the rare trek 9 miles west from here into Seattle this morning. The company is going on an outing to watch today's Mariners baseball game from a private suite. Last time I saw a pro baseball game was 43 years ago (it was really boring). It turns out the goodwife (who won one of the "extra" tickets in a drawing) has never been. Should be interesting.

A bit cool for my tastes. I seems to be most comfy in the mid-70's to 80 range.

I hope you are enjoying it to the fullest though. ;-)

"You forgot to ping me, there!"

Sorry, Irish! My brain is trying to take a vacation without me, and I'm doing good to remember my own name.

I'll try to post again tomorrow.

XO
