Yes, and those are flames shooting out of His halo in the form of a cross. :-)

It is wussified. My sister, a church musician, was telling me that there are some churches that have events called "A Tea with Jesus," where the (elderly) ladies show up wearing bridal outfits, and there are others that have events called "A Date with Jesus." She said somebody asked if, when one of the participants gets a real boyfriend, she has to break up with Jesus.

The above are Protestant churches, but it's only slightly better among Catholics, where everything is heavily dominated by female "Eucharistic ministers" or people who lead the "prayer blanket ministry." Personally, I think one of the reasons there was so much acceptance of gay priests is that little old ladies absolutely adore gay men.

Seriously, it's all so female-directed (and theologically wrong) that it's no wonder men stay away. I'm a woman, btw, so I can say this!

Factor in the pressure to be a "Christian nice guy" — no cussing, no confrontation, in tune with the wife's emotions — and it's amazing men keep the faith at all.

Well, I am not sure what he means by confrontations, but I seem to recall that Jesus said something about turning the other cheek, agreeing with your adversary, and loving your enemies.

As for avoiding bad language and keeping in tune with the wife's emotions, both seem to be good ideas. If my wife isn't happy, no one in the house is.
