His words are spirit and they are life.

His flesh is food indeed and his blood is drink indeed.

I will not derogate those who consider the bread and cup to be physical body and blood.

I think the truth is so close to that, since I think that Spiritual eyes would see the reality of Jesus' presence, that I actually would argue more with those who consider the elements simply to be symbolic.

No. I think Spiritual Presence is scriptural.

But, I think Physical Presence tries to deal with the issue better than does "symbolic."

I don't see how people don't get it. Today, I heard a Baptist minister quote scripture word for word and then say "That's not what it means" and proceed to tell people what it meant. M'kay.

On occasion I visit a Baptist church for family reasons. "This is not what it means" is one routine. The other is a simple lie:
Jesus said, "this bread represents my body"
