I’m not a preterist; I’m a partial preterist. But I agree titles can be confusing.
Better to say I believe most of the Bible’s prophecies have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
And I believe all men are better off following in the footsteps of the Holy Spirit.
I also believe some men are following in those footsteps, and they just don’t realize it yet. But they will, by the grace of God alone.
I wasn't confused.
Christianity is not spreading to Iraq. In fact, Christians are leaving Iraq. So, there is no benefit.
Bibles smuggled to China, and the word being spread to the Chinese has enriched China. I might mention that China is not a burned over region. This will be of benefit to those who are saved, of course.
I do not believe that God has nationalism in mind, however.
Please give the list.
On this we agree. Only I agree it is true for everyone, which does not include national Israel.
Borders are meaningless since the resurrection. There's neither Jew nor Greek; we are all one in Christ Jesus.
Bibles smuggled to China, and the word being spread to the Chinese has enriched China.
Exactly as the Gospel enriches all who hear it with ears given by God. And those who hear it and are enriched by it will, in turn, positively effect their families, their homes, their communities and their countries.
As God wills.
There is no preterist version of Scofield’s Notes, if that is what you are looking for.
However, I can confidently say that anything having to do with the second coming is still future.
“However, I can confidently say that anything having to do with the second coming is still future.”
Good, now that we have got that settled let’s be satisfied with the fact that He is coming back as the conquering King and Lord of Lords and we had better be alert and being about His business. So quit looking busy and be busy!
What business is that?
That is not possible for preterism to have the 2d coming be future.
The Matthew passage they are so fond of says that “this generation shall not pass until ALL these things be fulfilled.”
One of those things mentioned by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse was the 2d coming.
It was settled all the way back at post #4. But don't let that stop anyone from continuing the slander.
Oops.
“What business is that?”
Selling annointed prayer cloths, DVDs of Homecoming Gatherings, newsletter subscriptions, coffee cups with cute sayings, Kinkade paintings, teeshirts, christian fiction (whatever that is), stuff, just holy stuff. Just be busy, asking questions is not being busy. I know all about questions, I raised two very creative boys who learned the art of procrastinating questions. Get busy!
Remember Heb. 4:12-13, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”
He’s watching so get busy.
Mighty big oops, isn’t it?
:>)
In chess we call that an accidental queen sacrifice.
Preterist interpretations have been around since the first century as Francis X. Gumerlock and I demonstrate in The Early Church and the End of the World. Prior to the advent of dispensationalism, Bible commentators applied the fulfillment of the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21) to the events leading up to and including the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. This includes Henry Hammond, John Lightfoot, Philip Doddridge, Thomas Newton, John Gill, Thomas Scott, Adam Clark, and scores of others as I point out in my book Is Jesus Coming Soon? Is Markell ready to say that all these men were engaged in false teachings? She would have to write off nearly two thousand years of biblical interpretation in order to maintain her thesis.

Those accidental queen sacrifices really louse a game up, don’t they? And it seems you’ve always got one of your rooks blocked in its original corner when it happens....not that it’d be a whole lot of help.
You old peacemaker. 8~)
Preterism requires the return of Christ. There are no 1st century Christians claiming that Christ had already returned. DeMar is out of his mind.
Then after he takes it, you offer a draw.
We should be hearing low laughter and the offer of a draw any minute now, shouldn’t we?
